I prepared today's post for the contest held by #trliste. I hope it will be liked and appreciated by you.
I decided to participate in this contest by choosing Şanlıurfa Balıkgöl from the places I visited.
If you ask why this place, maybe because it is the most peaceful place I have ever been in my life.
Although it is crowded, the relaxing atmosphere, the chirping of birds, the serenity of the water, the fish swimming in rows...
Our story of going to Balıkgöl actually happened because I was assigned to Urfa, since we are from the Black Sea region, it is not easy to come to Southeastern Anatolia for sightseeing in terms of distance. While we were ready to go to Şanlıurfa, we decided to take advantage of the opportunity. The dilemmas we had at first, whether we should go or not, left us thinking that we were glad we went with the view of the environment we went to.
When we went there, there were so many people that we were surprised that there were so many people, and one of the things that attracted our attention was that they were not only Turkish but also from other nationalities.
While we were there, some tour groups were also visiting and their guides were giving information about the history of Balıklıgöl. I wanted to research the story a little more on the internet for you and present it with my own information because unfortunately not every source can be accurate.
''There was a king named Nemrut who once ruled in and around Şanlıurfa. Known for the cruelties he inflicted on his people, Nemrut declared himself a god and wanted his people to worship him. For this, he had his own statues built in the temple and forced his people to worship these statues, the symbol of himself. One night he had a nightmare in his sleep and immediately summoned the soothsayers to interpret his dream. One of the soothsayers prophesied that one of Nimrod's sons born that year would kill him, destroy idolatry and take over the reign.
Thereupon, Nimrod started to have his soldiers kill all the male children born that year. One of Nimrod's soldiers, Azer, takes his wife Nuna Hatun, who is pregnant and will soon give birth, to a cave near Urfa Castle. Nuna Hatun gives birth to her son in this cave and names him Ibrahim. Nuna Hatun leaves her son in the cave because she is afraid of Nimrod. Unable to bear it, she goes to check on her son and sees that he is alive and being breastfed by a gazelle and is very happy. Every day she goes to the cave to see her child and the child is raised by gazelles. When he is only fifteen months old, he looks like a fifteen-year-old boy. One day, the king's soldiers who were out hunting saw Prophet Abraham in the forest, captured him and brought him to the palace of Nimrod. Nimrod had no children, but as soon as he saw Prophet Abraham, he loved him and adopted him.
In time, Prophet Abraham hates Nimrod for his cruelty to his people and for forcing them to worship idols. He could not understand why people worship idols that do not even benefit themselves, and so the belief in God began to form in him. He begins to share this with the people. In the meantime, Nimrod has adopted another daughter named Zeliha. Zeliha feels love for Abraham and agrees with what he says. Even though the people agree with Prophet Abraham, they do nothing because they are afraid of Nimrod.
On a ceremonial day, when no one was present, Prophet Abraham smashes all the idols in the temple with an axe and hangs the axe around the neck of the biggest idol. This news is immediately heard by Nimrod. Nimrod gets very angry when he hears the news and takes the axe in his hand on the biggest idol and shoutingly asks how a piece of stone can do this. Prophet Abraham then begins to speak. He explains that it is not right to expect these pieces of stone, which they made and believed in with their own hands, and which cannot even protect themselves, to protect those who believe in them. Nimrod is enraged by this speech and orders Prophet Abraham to be burned in front of the people in a big fire. No other fires were allowed anywhere that day and all the wood was collected. A big fire is lit. Prophet Abraham was catapulted to the two pillars that stand today as Urfa Castle and thrown into this fire.
At the moment he is thrown, the fire turns into a lake and the wood turns into fish. The fish still have black spots on their backs. These stains are the marks left by the burnt wood. A lake is formed from the tears Zeliha sheds in the face of this situation and this lake is called Ayn-ı Zeliha Lake, which means Zeliha's tears.
Nimrod became even more enraged by all this and continued to deny Allah. According to the narration, a fly with a broken wing sent by Allah enters Nimrod's ear and starts crawling in his brain. Nimrod constantly felt pain in his head because of the fly, but no physician could find a cure for this pain. To reduce the pain in his head, Nimrod kept hitting his head with a wooden mallet every day. As the pain increased, the blows with the mallet became harder, so one day his head exploded and he died.
Even today, people consider this lake and the fish sacred. It is believed that anyone who touches these fish will die or get into trouble.''
Indeed, the fish there are still very important for the locals and people from outside. When we went there, we fed them with the feed sold there and watched their movements in the water.
During the trip, we had such peaceful moments that we could not understand how the time passed, and I am sure that if you go there, you will also feel these feelings because the atmosphere of the place makes you feel very relaxed and safe.

Neden burası derseniz belki de hayatımda gittiğim en huzurlu yer olduğu içindir.
Kalabalık olmasına rağmen dinlendirici atmosferi, kuş cıvıltıları, suyun dinginliği, sıra sıra yüzen balıklar...
Balıkgöl'e gitme hikayemiz aslında Urfa'ya atandığım için oldu, Karadenizli olduğumuz için Güneydoğu Anadolu'ya gezmeye gelmek mesafe açısından kolay değil. Şanlıurfa'ya gitmişken fırsatı değerlendirmeye karar verdik. Başta yaşadığımız gitsek mi gitmesek mi ikilemi gittiğimiz ortamın manzarası ile iyi ki gitmişize kendini bıraktı.
Biz oradayken bazı tur grupları da ziyaret ediyordu ve rehberleri Balıklıgöl'ün tarihi hakkında bilgi veriyordu. Ben de sizler için hikayeyi biraz daha internetten araştırıp kendi bilgilerimle sunmak istedim çünkü maalesef her kaynak doğru olmayabiliyor.
''Şanlıurfa ve çevresinde bir zamanlar hüküm süren Nemrut isimli bir kral varmış. Halkına yaşattığı zulümlerle bilinen Nemrut kendisini tanrı ilan etmiş ve halkının kendisine tapmasını istemiş. Bunun için tapınakta kendi heykellerini yaptırmış ve halkının kendisinin simgesi olan bu heykellere yani kendisine tapmaya zorlamış. Bir gece uykusunda bir kabus görmüş ve hemen kahinleri rüyasını yorumlamalarını toplamış. Kahinlerden biri Nemrut’un rüyasını o yıl doğacak olan erkek çocuklardan birinin onu öldüreceğini, putperesliği yok edeceğini ve hükümdarlığı ele geçireceği kehanetinde bulunur.
Bunun üzerine Nemrut o yıl doğan bütün erkek çocukları askerlerine öldürtmeye başlar. Nemrut’un askerlerinden biri olan Azer, hamile olan ve kısa bir süre sonra doğum yapacak olan karısı Nuna Hatun’u Urfa Kalesi yakınında bir mağaraya götürür. Nuna Hatun bu mağarada oğlunu doğurur, ismini İbrahim koyar. Nuna Hatun Nemrut’tan korktuğu için oğlunu mağarada bırakır. Dayanamaz ve çocuğunu kontrol etmeye gider ve yaşadığını, ceylan tarafından emzirildiğini görür ve çok mutlu olur. Her gün mağaraya çocuğunu görmeye gider, çocuk ceylanlar tarafından büyütülür. Henüz on beş aylıkken on beş yaşında bir delikanlı gibi görünür. Bir gün ava çıkmış olan kralın askerleri İbrahim Peygamber’i ormanda görüp yakalar ve saraya Nemrut’un huzuruna çıkarırlar. Nemrut’un çocuğu yoktur, İbrahim Peygamber’i görür görmez onu sever ve evlatlık alır.
İbrahim Peygamber zamanla Nemrut’tan halkına yaptığı zulüme ve putlara tapmaları konusunda zorladığı için nefret eder. İnsanların kendilerine bile bir faydası olmayan putlara tapmalarını anlam veremez, böylece içinde Allah inancı oluşmaya başlar. Bunu da halkla paylaşmaya başlar. Bu arada Nemrut, Zeliha adında bir kız çocuğu daha evlatlık almıştır. Zeliha, İbrahim’e karşı sevgi duyar ve onun söylediklerine hak verir. Halk da İbrahim Peygamber’e hak verse de Nemrut’tan korktukları için hiçbir şey yapmazlar.
İbrahim Peygamber bir tören gününde henüz kimse yokken bir baltayla tapınaktaki tüm putları parçalar ve baltayı en büyük olan putun boynuna asar. Bu haber hemen Nemrut tarafından da duyulur. Haberi alan Nemrut çok sinirlenir ve en büyük putun üzerindeki baltayı eline alarak bir taş parçasının bunu nasıl yapabileceğini bağırarak sorar. İbrahim Peygamber bunun üzerine konuşmaya başlar. Kendi elleriyle yaptıkları ve inandıkları, kendilerini bile koruyamayan bu taş parçalarından bir de onlara inananları koruyacağını beklemelerinin doğru olmadığını anlatır. Nemrut bu konuşma karşısında öfkelenir ve İbrahim Peygamber’in büyük bir ateş yakılarak halkın önünde yakılmasını emreder. O gün hiçbir yerde başka ateş yakılmasına izin verilmez ve bütün odunlar toplanır. Büyük bir ateş yakılır. İbrahim Peygamber bugün Urfa Kalesi olarak ayakta duran iki sütununa mancınıkla bağlanır ve bu yakılan ateşe atılır.
Atıldığı anda ateş göle, odunlar ise balığa dönüşürler. Balıkların sırtında kara lekeler vardır hala. Bu lekeler odunların yanmış olmasından kalan izlerdir. Zeliha’nın bu durum karşısında döktüğü göz yaşlarından bir göl oluşur ve bu göle Zeliha’nın gözyaşları anlamına gelen Ayn-ı Zeliha Gölü denmiştir.
Nemrut bütün bunlar karşısında daha çok öfkelenir ve Allah’ı inkar etmeye devam eder. Rivayete göre Allah tarafından gönderilen kanadı kırık bir sinek Nemrut’un kulağından içeri girer ve beyninde gezinmeye başlar. Nemrut, sinekten dolayı sürekli olarak kafasında ağrı hisseder ama hiçbir hekim bu ağrıya çare bulamaz. Nemrut kafasındaki ağrıyı azaltmak için tahta bir tokmakla başına vurup durur her gün. Ağrı artıkça tokmakla vuruşları da sertleştiğinden kafası bir gün patlar ve can verir.
Bugün bile halk bu gölü ve balıkları kutsal kabul eder. Bu balıklara dokunan kişinin öleceğine veya başına bir bela geleceğine inanılır.''
Gerçekten de oradaki balıklar oranın halkı ve dışarıdan gelen insanlar için hala çok önem arz etmekte. Biz de gittiğimizde onlara orda satılan yemlerle besledik , suyun içindeki hareketlerini izledik.
Gezi boyunca manevi açıdan o kadar huzurlu anlar geçirdik ki zamanın nasıl geçtiğini anlayamadık , oraya gidebilirseniz sizin de bu duyguları hissedeceğinize çok eminim çünkü oranın atmosferi insanı çok rahatlatıp, güvende hissettiriyor.
