As you know, I am out of town. Today I came to visit Eyüp Sultan, which I wanted to go for a long time. While I was here, I wanted to tell you about its streets and the memory of my life.
Istanbul is at a very important point in terms of history. It is possible to come across historical buildings in almost every street and every district. I constantly think about and research the historical things I come across while walking on the streets.
In addition to the historical buildings, of course, the indispensable part of the streets of Istanbul are cats. The things that surprise the tourists who come to visit our country have always been our stray cats. Cats are the owners of the whole city. Also, they are all friendly.
There are a lot of cats in Eyüp Sultan district and everyone takes care of them voluntarily. They always have food and water containers in front of them. If you feel lonely and bad, you can definitely stop by there and spend time with the cats for free. It is possible to reach hundreds of cats behind the Eyüp Sultan cemetery.
9 years ago, I found and adopted my house cat exactly here. It was looking at me from there, just like the cat you see in the photo, right where I took the picture. She was sick and tiny at the time, almost dying. I think it was a gift from Eyüp Sultan His Holiness. I immediately brought her home and had her treatments done. She is now a 9-year-old chubby girl, she. Glad our paths crossed with her.
Of course, I cannot go without saying that we have a very special bond with our country and our flag. 🥰
It is possible to come across small street vendors selling authentic jewelry and home accessories in Eyüp Sultan district. I have bought necklaces and bracelets from here many times.
And of course, historical tombs are on this road. On the right and left sides, you can find tombs and tombstones from the Ottoman period. The graves of many important people of that period are located here. The only problem is that the tombstones in Ottoman Turkish were not translated into modern Turkish. Since I do not know Ottoman, I cannot read the date of their death.
At the top of these stairs, there is a cemetery area reserved for the deceased in the current period. There are also historical fountains right next to it.
It was enjoyable for me to walk around the streets of the historical district. I finished high school at the school here at the age of 16. Wandering around reminded me of my teenage years. I revived many memories and some of them made me very emotional.
I am not at home right now and it is very difficult for me to write an article on the phone. When I get home, I plan to prepare a more comprehensive article for you about this place and its spiritual value. For now, take good care of yourself and hug you all with love until we meet again.

Bildiğiniz gibi şehir dışındayım. Bugün uzun zamandır gitmek istediğim Eyüp Sultan'i ziyarete gelmiştim. Gelmişken de size sokaklarını ve yaşadığım anıyı anlatmak istedim.
Istanbul tarih açısından oldukça önemli bir noktada. Hemen hemen her sokak ve her semtinde tarihi yapılara rastlamak mümkün. Sokaklarda gezerken rastladığım tarihi şeyleri sürekli düşünürüm ve araştırırım.
Tarihi yapılarının yani sıra tabi ki İstanbul sokaklarının olmazsa olmazı kedilerdir. Ülkemizi ziyarete gelen turistlerin en çok şaşırdığı şeyler her zaman sokak kedilerimiz olmuştur. Bütün şehrin sahibi aslında kediler diyebiliriz. Ayrıca hepsi sıcakkanlı davranırlar.
Eyüp Sultan semtinde kediler oldukça fazla ve onlara herkes gönüllü olarak bakıyor. Önlerinde her zaman mama ve su kapları bulunuyor. Eğer kendinizi yalnız ve kötü hissederseniz mutlaka oraya uğrayarak kedilerle vakit geçirebilirsiniz hem de ücretsiz olarak. Eyüp Sultan mezarlığın arkasında yüzlerce kediye ulaşmak mümkün.
Ben de 9 sene önce ev kedimi tam olarak burada bulup sahiplenmiştim. Tam da resim çekildiğim yerde tıpkı fotoğrafta gördüğünüz kedi gibi bana oradan bakıyordu. O zamanlar hasta ve ufacıktı neredeyse ölmek üzereydi. Onun bana Eyüp Sultan Hazretleri'nim hediyesi olduğunu düşünüyorum. Onu hemen evime getirdim ve tedavilerini yaptırdım. Şimdi 9 yaşında tombul bir kız oldu. Iyi ki yollarımız onunla kesişmiş.
Tabi ki ülkemiz ve bayrağımızla çok özel bir bağımız olduğunu söylemeden geçemeyeceğim. 🥰
Eyüp Sultan semtinde otantik takılar ve ev aksesuarları satan küçük sokak satıcılarına rastlamak mümkün. Buradan bir çok defa kolye ve bileklik satın aldığım olmuştur.
Ve tabi ki tarihi mezarlar bu yol üstünde kalıyor. Sağ ve sol kısımlarda Osmanlı döneminden kalma mezar ve mezar taşlarına rastlayabiliyorsunuz. O döneme ait bir çok önemli şahsın mezarları burada bulunuyor. Tek sorun osmanlıca olan mezar taşlarının günümüz türkçesine çevrilmemiş olması. Osmanlıca bilmediğim için hangi tarihte öldüklerini okuyamıyorum.
Bu merdivenlerin üst kısmında şimdiki dönemlerde ölenler için ayrılan mezarlık alan bulunmaktadır. Hemen yanında da tarihi çeşmeler vardır.
Tarihi semtin sokaklarında dolaşmak benim için keyifliydi. 16 yaşımda liseyi burada bulunan okulda bitirmiştim. Buralarda dolaşmak bana o ergen donemimi hatırlattı. Bir çok hatırlayı canlandırdım ve bazıları beni çok duygulandırdı.
Şuan evimde değilim ve telefondan makale yazmak benim için çok zor. Eve geçtiğim zaman burasi ve manevi değeri hakkında sizlere daha kapsamlı bir makale hazırlamayı düşünüyorum. Şimdilik kendinize çok iyi bakın ve tekrar görüşene kadar hepinizi sevgimle kucaklıyorum.
