Earlier today I was having a discussion with a lady concerning a post she made which says “a man should be the one to take care of the bills alone because that’s his responsibility “and I told her that the time for responsibility role is gone and marriage is all about understanding because if there’s an understanding taking of bills can be done by both partners and not necessarily dependent on one person.
She concluded by saying “how can men expect women to be bringing money and also expect to do d responsibility of a housewife?” then I stated some facts that she however concurred with, well I might be wrong and I might also be right but whatever the outcome is, it’s all about understanding from both parties because without that marriages won’t work. Some facts I stated are;
If a man decides to marry a woman and wants her to work in support of the home, he should be aware that there will be days and times when she won’t be able to do the job of a full housewife because her job won’t give her the opportunity to run the house fully. So it’s up to the man to play a supporting role in the house activities and she also plays a supporting role in paying the bills.
If a man decides to marry a woman and wants her to stay at home and take care of the house and kids, that is, marrying a house, he should know that taking care of the bills and running the home is fully up to him because the woman is not earning anything except the savings she gets from him or her little stay at the home hustle.
If he wants a woman that’s submissive to him in the house, he should be aware that she will be dependent on him to take care of her because she is now dependent on him alone to be the provider but if he wants a strong woman then he should be prepared for her own opinion, her own character and chasing her own goals.

I totally agree with you. It is the responsibility of both. When you decide to start a family it is important to talk about these issues.
I believe that both are a team and should support each other to move forward.
