Hello Amazing Ladies of Hive
It is with much enthusiasm and gusto that I make this entry.
Parenting is a topic that has gained relevance in today's society as it is shrouded around a child being properly brought up or not.
It's more than just being all lovey dovey ,it goes beyond Childbirth and babyfever.
It is a crucial aspect of life that determines a childs upbringing.
To the best of my understanding, Good Parenting is all about raising a child and raising a child well
it involves a whole lot of hard work, sacrifice and dedication.
For this entry I'll be talking about three pivotal traits a parent or Intending parent must posses.
First of anyone who wants to be a parent should be responsible.
Children watch and we are mirrors through which they see the world.
An irresponsible parent would only do a child more harm than good because that child would grow up to live exactly like his or her parents have,an apple never falls far from it's tree.
Responsibility is an essential trait for parenting,it entails discipline , when you understand boundaries you'll help your children understand boundaries too,it involves caring for their needs and being there for them, responsibility goes beyond giving them money and sorting out their bills, you have to be there for them as well ,spend quality time with them. Never forget you are a role model to them , demonstrate positive values you would love them to emulate,be a good example in the best ways you can.
Another important trait a parent should possess is Patience.
To be honest,kids are a whole lot and you could run out of patience having a deal with them every single day.
A parent needs to be patient, and to top it up be loving and empathethic, don't use harsh words because you are angry,if you've told a child to stop doing something but they don't listen and eventually get hurt, it's okay to tell them thats consequence but don't be glad it happened,show concern so that your child feels a sense of security with you.You'll need to sacrifice short temperedness and embrace an atmosphere of patience and tolerance with your kids, they'll learn eventually.
Finally, and most importantly, every parent should be able to Understand stages of their childs life. I'd love to call this alertness.
As they advance in growth your upbringing methods change.
You have to evolve with your kids even as you try to strike a balance.
Understand them intricately, know their likes and dislikes,every child is built different and as much as you try to train your kids to come out as better people, don't use the same methods with the rest of your children if you have more than one child.
Don't treat your teen like a five year old,he or she doesn't want that, be involved with your kids so that you'll decipher quickly enough if something is wrong somewhere.
To be able to achieve this trait, build your communication skills with your kids and spend time with them.
Parenting may be a long journey but it is one that is worthwhile.
You're So right it takes a lot to be a parent because parenting is never an easy journey.
