¡Hola queridas Damas de Hive! Espero que se encuentren todas muy bien. Ya arrancamos diciembre, el mes de las festividades y las reuniones familiares, y con amigos, para cerrar el año. Es un momento ideal para responder las preguntas de la semana de la mano de @priyanarc con temas pertinentes a las festividades.
En esta época del año se celebran muchas festividades: Janucá en la tradición judía, Yule/Solsticio en las tradiciones neopaganas y antiguas, Navidad en los hogares cristianos, el Día de Bodhi en algunas tradiciones budistas... ¿Alguna vez has celebrado con otras personas una tradición que no es la tuya? Si es así, cuéntanos. Si no, ¿lo considerarías y qué festividad elegirías como tu primera experiencia?
Todavía no tuve la oportunidad de celebrar ninguna festividad que no sean las de mi tradición, pero siempre estoy abierta a este tipo de cosas. La verdad es que nunca me puse a pensar en una pregunta como esta, pero creo que siempre tuve curiosidad por ver los festejos y participar del año nuevo chino. Me parece muy curioso que su calendario sea diferente al nuestro, como que ellos viven en otra sintonía, y no es que quiera vivir como ellos, nada más me encantaría participar de sus celebraciones y conocer sus tradiciones en esa festividad. En una ciudad no tan lejos tenemos un lugar al que llamamos barrio chino y allí hay muchos comercios y locales chinos que son toda una atracción turística. Seguramente hagan festivales especiales en época de su año nuevo, sería cuestión de ir y aprovechar para ser parte de una festividad diferente. Después de todo, nunca está de más tener varios motivos de festejos. La buena energía siempre viene bien.

Si tu familia celebraba alguna festividad cuando eras niño, ¿conservas algún adorno, decoración o objeto ritual que se usara de niño? Si es así, ¿cuál es y qué significado tiene para ti?
A decir verdad no guardamos ningún objeto de estos, así que no quedó ningún objeto de nuestras infancias. Aunque, en nuestro caso, varios adornos navideños cuando cumplían su ciclo o se rompían los tirábamos y donamos lo que ya no usamos a otras familias. Es una manera de mantener los adornos en movimiento y darles un nuevo propósito. Solemos tener la tradición de comprar siempre algo nuevo para decorarlo y es por eso que en algún momento pasamos a tener demasiados adornos en buen estado que decidimos darlo a otros familiares o personas que los necesiten y sepan aprovecharlos mejor antes que se queden guardados en una caja juntando polvo. Esa es nuestra filosofía navideña con respecto a los adornos y la decoración. También solemos seguir con la costumbre de armar el árbol de navidad el 8 de diciembre, así que ya falta poco para este momento. Me emociona mucho cuando llega la fecha porque siento que recupero algo de mi niña interior que amaba las festividades.

Hello, dear Ladies of Hive! I hope you are all doing well. December is here, the month of festivities and family gatherings, and get-togethers with friends, to close out the year. It's the perfect time to answer this week's questions from @priyanarc on topics related to the holidays.
Many holidays are celebrated this time of year: Hannukah in the Jewish tradition, Yule/Solstice in Neo-Pagan and ancient traditions, Christmas in Christian households, Bodhi Day in some Buddhist traditions... Have you ever celebrated with others in a tradition that is NOT your own? If so, tell us about it. If not, would you consider it, and which holiday would you choose as your first such experience?
I haven't had the opportunity to celebrate any holidays other than those of my own tradition, but I'm always open to this kind of thing. The truth is that I've never really thought about a question like this, but I think I've always been curious to see the celebrations and participate in Chinese New Year. I find it very interesting that their calendar is different from ours, as if they live in a different rhythm, and it's not that I want to live like them, I just would love to participate in their celebrations and learn about their traditions during that holiday. In a city not too far away, we have a place we call Chinatown, and there are many Chinese shops and restaurants that are a tourist attraction. They probably have special festivals during their New Year, so it would be a matter of going and taking advantage of being part of a different holiday. After all, it never hurts to have several reasons to celebrate. Good energy is always welcome.

If your family celebrated a holiday when you were a child, do you still have an ornament, decoration, or ritual item that was used when you were a child? If so, what is it and its significance to you?
To tell the truth, we don't keep any of these items, so there are no objects left over from our childhoods. However, in our case, when Christmas decorations reached the end of their useful life or broke, we threw them away and donated what we no longer used to other families. It's a way of keeping the decorations in circulation and giving them a new purpose. We usually have a tradition of always buying something new to decorate, which is why at some point we ended up with too many decorations in good condition. We decided to give them to other family members or people who need them and know how to make better use of them, rather than leaving them stored in a box gathering dust. That's our Christmas philosophy when it comes to decorations. We also tend to follow the custom of putting up the Christmas tree on December 8, so that time is fast approaching. I get very excited when the date arrives because I feel like I'm reconnecting with my inner child who loved the holidays.
