Horror Shoe Story - Community Contest #48

Hello, Ladies of Hive!

This is my first time entering a board contest, and mine is going to focus on the first theme: tales of your worst footwear.

I love shoes, and I've had them in the most different shapes and sizes, elegant and extravagant but there was only one pair that came to mind when I read this theme.
I hate them so much that I can't even co-exist in the same property as them! Just kidding.
When I left home for college and then, without noticing moving away I never took them with me.
There was no other reason to do so unless I want to be horrified every time I look at them and remember how much money I paid for.

In the early 2000s fashion sense was kinda questionable, while everything was super small there was also a childish feature like those puff backpacks or in this case :
"Jelly Spider Sandals"
There was no reason for this to ever be a thing, they were 100% plastic so you were wearing sandals to sweat even more than a pair of sneakers.
After the sweat and everything being clammy and slippery, you would start walking weirdly so those hard plastic straps on the side wouldn't cut through your skin.
Overall a horrible experience.

I bought them a bit later than the 2000s which makes it an even more questionable decision and to top it off, one size bigger than mine.
Thinking hard enough I wore it 3 times, the first thinking I would rock them and realizing the mistake I had made while the next two times were me making myself go through the suffering as a punishment for not giving enough thought or maybe just trying to fake it till you make it.

PS: I had to ask my sister to send me pictures of them because I have none ahahah).

As a ladie to be invited into the community I would call @khaleesii
I think she would fit right in!

OMG! JELLY SPIDER SANDALS.....

Getting Under the wire @fromdrab2fab Welcome to #ladiesofhive and thanks for entering 👻

I get PTSD from looking at them ahaha
It get's worst, in the sun they are kinda "see through" 🙈

ILove Shoes, is so interesting read about.

I like the shoes though 😁
I would rock it in black.
Thank you for nominating me

If it was in black and proper size, I think I would've tried harder, but they were so uncomfortable

Beauty isn't pain anymore, it's good you got rid of it.

I didn't! For sake of nostalgia I cannot get rid of it, but out of sight out of mind, so I keep them at my grandparent's house ahah

You have received 5 LADY(LOH) tokens for posting in Ladies of Hive.

I see jelly sandals and I click 😅

I run away from them ahahaha, I rocked them in the 90s when I was a toddler and they were cool, I thought I could bring that back in my teens, what a waste 😂

But I could totally rock these😅

If sweat and tears are for you, then is just right up your ally 😅

Ooh no..I don't think I want them again 😅😅

I like the shoes though 😁
I would rock it in black.
Thank you for nominating me

I had them too but mine was cream. I just wore it for special short occasion because it was quite uncomfortable walking too long in that jelly sandals.
