Ladies of Hive Community Contest #84

This contest caught my attention and I believe that I owe part of who I am to my position in terms of my birth, so I will gladly answer this question and what this event has done in my life.

What was your position (in terms of birth) in the family? How did that experience help you become a successful adult or hinder you from becoming a successful adult?

I am the first born in my family, I was very expected and my parents had been married for 2 years, my mother did not feel labor pains and was worried about me it had been 41 weeks almost 42 when I went to the prenatal visit they realized that I was losing weight, they did an emergency cesarean section, I was born with low birth weight, dehydrated and kidney problems so since I was born I am a warrior.

My parents were very careful with me, I was always underweight, periodic checkups with pediatricians and specialists, it was my childhood when I was 4 years old, my sister was born, but with the references of my birth, all precautions were taken, this tells me that since I was little I have been an example for my sister.

Of course, being the eldest child gave me a very high responsibility, to be the first in everything, to go to school, to learn to ride a bicycle, that is to say, I was the containment, I was the first to take the blows, so as I felt with that responsibility, I made an effort to be a very good student so that my sister did not have to make so much effort, and that is how my childhood and adolescence went, which makes me think that I still carry the weight of being the example for both of them.

When our father died, it was more responsibility in fact my mother was devastated and my little sister of 13 years very affected, I had to do my heart out, I could not afford to cry I had to get ahead my sister and I finished studying in high school, my mother super sad cried a lot at night the absence I never left her alone I slept with her in her bed so that she would not be so lonely.

I had to move forward, I graduated my mother told me to continue studying at the university, I wanted to work but she did not let me, so despite the economic limitations I graduated as a dentist to be an example for my sister, besides being the one who made all the payments, because I had to learn to drive.

I took my sister to school, I went to pick her up while I was in college, I was in control of everything, all the eyes of the family were on me and my actions and decisions.

Those experiences taught me to be what I am now, a mother who wants her children to be prepared and have the weapons to be able to defend themselves in life, at this point and being a migrant in another country I am still responsible for everything.

I am aware as always of my mother, my sister and now my children, because I have that responsibility for all sometimes I do not deny it weighs me feel that I am mentally exhausted, but sie.pre has been so I am convinced that everyone is born with a personal and family purpose, in my case I am at the head of all.

Well, in my family my opinion is determinant to make any decision so I think a lot at the time of making any decision so that it is beneficial for everyone, I have learned to be determined, balanced, fair and intelligent.

This allowed me to grow as a person, who listens, who is fair when it comes to a difference, that even though I am always busy, I have time for everything, including writing.

Being the big sister is like being a trial and error experiment but it's super awesome because I know they see and follow my lead.

I am not perfect although I put a lot of pressure on myself not to fail that keeps me stressed and to see very well where I step so that those who come after me, so sometimes I get stressed, I feel that I carry a lot of weight although I have carried it all my life sometimes tires but as I am a woman achiever no matter the stones of the road or jump or dodge them or simply continue on another path but I do not stop because behind me there are many people who admire me and follow me ....

Hello @helengutier2. What an interesting childhood. I like when you say that:

"Being the big sister is like being a trial and error experiment but it's super awesome because I know they see and follow my lead."

That is super. By your story, I can just tell you were the hero of the family. Responsibilities didn't slow you down from your education and career. I know you family is proud of you.

Thanks for sharing. Have a good rest of your weekend.

Well, I am still going ahead with many projects and my family is included because until I see them fulfilled and happy I will not be calm and I live trying to make everything work and they have told me that they are proud of me. Greetings
