The outside cages were purely decorative and there was no way for the wild birds to go in. These were for summer time fun. On a normal basis I only put out bird feeders in late fall through early spring and don't feed the birds in the warmer weather when other food is bountiful. In winter these hooks do hold other feeders.
I know we learn a lot from the good lessons and the bad lessons, that is how we grow and get first hand understanding on things sometimes. That still doesn't make it fun while you are going through the bad lessons though.... right ? ... ugh ! 🙃
Thanks for stopping by my post !
Oh.... and I will check out your link.
Oh yeah that's such a great way to do it! So they can still remain independent in Summer and you just give them a hand in winter so they don't get too used to it and forget how to find their own...
Love it!
And no it doesn't make it fun, but it certainly motivates you to get through the light at the end of the tunnel quicker doesn't it!
