You may have not likely get an extra point scoring with your half of the shoe but I can understand the situation and embarrassment you must have felt. It's good that you can laugh it off.
I used to plan my shopping ahead of time to avoid the rush since my shopping center is located not very far from where I live and I can take the time for my son's to choose rather than I. Perhaps your parents didn't not have the benefit of convenience.
