LOH 111: Deck the Halls!

20 days left before Christmas day! Who's feeling a little excited to celebrate the holidays? Me, I am pretty much excited to see how everybody will celebrate this year's Christmas back to almost normal or what we call the new normal.

Oh, wait! How about the Christmas decorations? Some of you might have decorated your house months when the Ber months started or when we started counting down to 100 days before Christmas. You know what, I remember when my parents used to DIY our Christmas trees. Let me show you some.

Putting up decorations could be enjoyable and could be a headache

Enjoyable for the fact that
  • can improve one's artistic or creative side
  • can remove negative feelings at home (depending on the experience)
  • can be nostalgic and brings happy childhood memories (at least)
  • can also be a stress reliever
  • a good bonding for family members to change the household scenery
Headache as...
  • barely have the time to buy or put up decorations
  • kids could be messy and will most likely play around with the decorations that may end up destroying them.
  • could be frustrating if you think or feel that you weren't contented or feel like it wasn't enough
  • Some may think that they are being too competitive when it comes to outdoor decorations
  • Keeping and removing the decorations are too dusty! (sorry, my allergic rhinitis kicks in)

All things have their pros and cons eh?

Let me give you some good advice. If it's your first time putting up Christmas decorations, it's either you take them off right after the holidays or you will end up leaving them there for the rest of the year and use them for the next holiday season. HAHAHAHAHAHA! But seriously, I would always go for recycled decorations or unique decorations that will suit my preferences. Decorate your house as what your heart desires and will make the people around your home happy for the holidays!

That's a lot of fun surely doing it all by self. You bet, if we do not take down the decorations immediately after the holiday season, it gets kind of delayed forever

Making decoration have pros and cons 😂 but always fun if you are not alone 😀

Everyone get excited for the end of year and go to holiday

Hello @miconteangsabeat. Good advice on making sure you take down your decorations immediately after the holidays are over. I actually know a friend who leaves some of the decorations up all year.

When you say:

"I would always go for recycled decorations or unique decorations that will suit my preferences. Decorate your house as what your heart desires and will make the people around your home happy for the holidays!"

I like your idea of a DIY Christmas tree and decorations. Although I'm not into crafts, you can make your tree unique and a family conversation piece. I also find this cost saving and reduces stress by using recycled or older decorations if you want to have a full armor of supplies but are running short of time to shop or funds.

Thanks for sharing your ideas. Take care.

Leaving the decorations up for a year also happened to us. My parents won't take them down hahaha

It is true that people who do not remove the Christmas decorations just after it ends leave them all year round! 😆

it's either you take them off right after the holidays or you will end up leaving them there for the rest of the year and use them for the next holiday season.

Now this is a very good advice 😂. After Christmas, the decorations could be very tiring to take down.

I love the fact that y'all are really creative people that are able to make Diy Christmas trees.
