The Women's Pavilion at Dubai's Expo 2020!

In the Dubai Expo Women's Pavilion in 2020, boys and girls are shown to be equal. Beautiful and thought provoking, and I welcome this notion. Interviews of a few young, teenage women were shown in the pavilion. A common and wise theme followed every interview - all of them believe men and women are equal.

We see in the family of the 1900's, mothers fed more food to the boys. The girls were usually given less food. They were ignorant. Dependent on men. That is how they were taught to act. She only knew that family work, house chores and giving birth to children is the life of a woman. Hence, the boys became eventually selfish. The man forgot his responsibilities or was not interested when it came to his mother and sisters. The girls from the interviews said that we have to show equality at all levels from family to school and work and skin colour to the race.

With the help of recycled plastic Rita made a tree in the pavilion. It was a metaphor and Rita wanted to make it clear that only a mother can keep her children in the shade unconditionally. With proper education, boys and girls and men and women are equal in the society. To achieve this a beautiful society is required where we see each other as humans.

Education is the light of humanity in 2020 today. Men and women get equal rights. In order to maintain this trend of thinking, the salary of the man will have to be paid to the woman. Women work in the same houses as men and their salary is less than that of men. I had three Italian expatriates visiting with me, and they agreed to this.

Now women have got the light of education, so today we see women as pilots, doctors, engineers, teachers, we have been able to sit in big places. Although there are still some sectors where we see a discrimination against women and it is all our duty to get rid of this inequality.

A lot of illustrations of some men and women were shown where everyone was equal and also the horrors of the inequality. A shoe rack containing shoes from different cultures and different times showed how much longer women spent doing unpaid care work compared to men.

Today we have female scientists, female astronauts, has received the Nobel Prize. The women's pavilion in the Dubai Expo 2020 was an insightful reminder of the inequalities women have faced, an inspiring show of how women have persevered, and a motivating gesture for all people to fight against the remaining inequality.

Sort:

Women have arrived in some cultures and in others, have not. And many in-between!
We all have to work towards equity and equality!
Thanks for sharing, @moshy!

Here's to hoping towards equity and equality. Pavilions as such do a lot for creating awareness!
