Ladies of Hive Community Contest #263 - Important lesson for Children

in Ladies of Hive β€’ 4 days ago

@LadiesofHive Community Contest #263 questions for the week are:
1️⃣ What do you consider to be the most important lessons that we should teach our children?
~ 𝐀𝐍𝐃 / πŽπ‘ ~
2️⃣ Do you consider failing to be less, equal, or more important than succeeding in life and why?

🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷

Children are very vulnerable and whatever they see their elders doing they learn from them. So it's very important to set the right examples in front of them. Also the times are changing very rapidly and with that even the parenting ways. In today's time what I observe the most is, how easily the younger generation is getting stressed out. Even children of age 6 and 8 talk about stress. So I feel the most important lesson to teach them is Resilience. They must learn to accept failures and navigate through life. They must be prepared to face the challenges of life, because life is not going to be easy. They should learn to adapt to situations.

Everything will not be available to them readily on the platter, there will be struggles, uncertainty and chaos in life, and they must learn to navigate through it. That will only come if they learn to be resilient from a very young age. Because that will build their confidence level, allow them to think broader and deal with challenges. They will learn to live in the real world and when faced with challenges they will not stress out and have set backs but be prepared to face it.

Building resilience with them is not easy and for that the parent themself should be prepared for it. They need to allow their child to fail, to make mistakes and to learn from that. These days what I see is parents give in very easily into their child demand and then the child also has lot of external influences where they are encouraged to not tolerate any hard actions from their parents. So it is a very sensitive matter to handle with them. The parent should not keep focusing on their success, which is again very common. Every parent want their child to achieve success. It is good but what is more important is to focus on the hard work and praise their effort, even if they fail the parent should not stop appreciating their effort and make the understand the value of efforts.

Parent should allow the child to think and not think on their behalf. Working parents who spend very less time with their children again fail here, because of the limited time they have with them, they want everything to happen fast and in the bargain do not give enough time to the child to develop their own thinking and problem solving capabilities.

As I said it's a one word but the actions to take behind it is a lot, but it is very much needed. Because when they will grow up they will be ready to face the real world in a better way. Their mental health will be better, their relationships will be smooth, their work area will be thriving. and they will be the smarter lot for sure.

Did you know that @stresskiller is also a witness now ?

Right. I think that approach of having them to appreciate their efforts put in irrespective of what the outcome ends up becoming is very important. It's the process that matters the most, and getting better at that without being attached to the results.

We parents become impatient with them and want things to happen fast and in the process keep disturbing their learning flow

Yes, resilience is truly essential because we can’t simply give up whenever we face difficulties. Life will always test us, and it’s our ability to rise after every setback that keeps us moving forward.

Take the Philippines as an example, we Filipinos are known for our remarkable resilience. Imagine living in a country that constantly faces calamities: a powerful earthquake strikes and destroys homes, and before people can even recover, a super typhoon hits, washing away what’s left. Despite these hardships, Filipinos continue to rebuild, smile, and hope again. Without resilience, many would easily lose the will to go on, overwhelmed by exhaustion and the pain of starting over with nothing.

That’s why you’re absolutely right, resilience should be taught and nurtured. Life will always be full of challenges and struggles, but overcoming them brings not just relief, but a deep sense of fulfillment and lasting joy.

That's so wonderful. In Oman there are many Filipinos and I see they are very hardworking also, they never shy off to take up any job and they are always having a smile on their face no matter whatever the situation is. You are very right in pointing it out.

You have also presented some very important points, such as the kind of behavior or behavior we display in front of children will be reflected back to us, so we should be consistent in front of Sarada children. Thank you very much for presenting such beautiful comments about these children to us.

Children are innocent they will pick up everything that they see around hence it is so important to show the right behavior to them

As parents, we need to allow our children to make mistakes and learn from them. I agree with you, we must value their efforts so that they understand the value of a job well done. I love your reflection, my friend. Have a lovely day,

Thank you. Making mistakes, falling and getting up again will teach them that failure is part of life

Many parents has failed in many ways in the upbringing of their children because they found no time to be with these children more or less teaching them all they needed to know about life and how it operates

We are living in a fast paced world, everyone is operating in fast mode and we do the same with the upbringing of children also

That's ex

You are the first one to speak of resilience @nainaztengra, which for these times we live in, is such an important life lesson. Allowing them to make their own way and most importantly allowing them to think for themselves. It is too easy to jump in with our own opinions, when really we need to let them discover their own.

Thank you @trucklife-family, look at the number of increasing divorces, suicides, job stress, all of this is because some of these younger generation people just do not know how to deal with difficult situations.
