1️⃣ This time of year is marked by many celebrations: Hanukkah in the Jewish tradition, Yule/Solstice in neo-pagan and ancient traditions, Christmas in Christian homes, Bodhi Day in some Buddhist traditions... Have you ever celebrated a tradition that is not your own with other people? If so, tell us about it. If not, would you consider it, and which holiday would you choose for your first experience?
1️⃣ En esta época del año se celebran muchas festividades: Janucá en la tradición judía, Yule/Solsticio en las tradiciones neopaganas y antiguas, Navidad en los hogares cristianos, el Día de Bodhi en algunas tradiciones budistas... ¿Alguna vez has celebrado con otras personas una tradición que no es la tuya? Si es así, cuéntanos. Si no, ¿lo considerarías y qué festividad elegirías como tu primera experiencia?
One of the things I love most in life is Christmas, and since I was little I celebrated it with my parents and relatives; then, over time, it was just my siblings, friends, and parents. Today I still enjoy the company of my parents, siblings, and in-laws, as well as my partner's family, but I love my family at Christmas; it's an emotional time for everyone. For me, these holidays are celebrated in peace; I don't really have any rituals for this time of year. I celebrate my days normally with love and brotherhood, sharing a table with friends, listening to bagpipes and so on, and also with our dinner, which is an icon for everyone. But honestly, I don't know about those kinds of religions, or at least I haven't researched them, because maybe I've seen them, but I don't really know if I've shared them.
A long time ago, I had the pleasure of spending Christmas with some Turkish people, and they don't really have big celebrations, at least not the people I met, who were my bosses at one of my first legal jobs. What is good, though, is the food they have and the wide variety we can try. Christmas is different for each person, and each of us experiences it at our own pace and in our own way; that's why we also impose our traditions and what we want our children to do in the future. This is a tradition that goes from family to family, and it's good to maintain these roots, because Christmas is about family and brotherhood.
Una de las cosas que más amo en la vida es la Navidad, y desde pequeña la celebré con mis padres y familiares; luego, con el tiempo, solo eran mis hermanos, amistades y padres. Hoy en día sigo disfrutando de la compañía de mis padres, hermanos y mis suegros, también de la familia de mi pareja, pero amo mi familia con la Navidad; es una fecha emotiva para todos. Para mí estas fechas se celebran en tranquilidad; realmente para mí no hay ritual para estas fechas, celebro mis días normalmente con amor y hermandad, compartiendo la mesa con amistades, escuchando gaitas y demás, también con nuestra cena, que es un icono para todos, pero de ese tipo de religiones, sinceramente, no conozco o al menos no he investigado, porque quizás la he visto, pero no sé realmente si la he compartido.
Hace mucho tiempo tuve el placer de pasar unas Navidades con personas turcas y realmente no hacen grandes celebraciones, al menos estas personas que conocí, que eran mis jefes de uno de mis primeros trabajos legales. Lo que sí es bueno es la comida que tienen y la gran colección que podemos tomar para degustar. La Navidad es diferente para cada persona y cada uno de nosotros la vive a su ritmo y modo; es por eso que nosotros también imponemos nuestras tradiciones y lo que queremos que nuestros hijos en un futuro hagan. Esta es una tradición que va de familia en familia y es bueno mantener estas raíces, porque Navidad es familia y hermandad.

2️⃣ If your family celebrated any holidays when you were a child, do you still have any decorations or ritual objects that were used during your childhood? If so, what are they and what do they mean to you?
As I said before, Christmas at my house was traditional, as we know it in my country: dinner, gift exchange, dancing, drinking, the Baby Jesus, grapes, and so on. But as for celebrating anything out of the ordinary, I don't think so, although the only thing I might have, but not at the moment, is a nativity scene, that is, the birth of our baby Jesus, which my mother had at home for a few years, but after she converted to her religion, she gave it to me, but I haven't brought it over yet; it's the only thing I think is still at home from that time. One of the things I remember, but there is no evidence of it, is our first Christmas tree, which was not really what we know today; rather, it was some branches that my parents cut and decorated, and my mother made the decorations out of felt. This lasted us a long time, but after we moved, everything was lost. Today we have a bigger tree with more realistic decorations, but we carry the love of those first decorations in our hearts; it's a fond Christmas memory.

2️⃣ Si tu familia celebraba alguna festividad cuando eras niño, ¿conservas algún adorno, decoración o objeto ritual que usaran en tu infancia? De ser así, ¿cuál es y qué significado tiene para ti?
Como bien dije anteriormente, en mi casa las Navidades eran las tradicionales que conocemos en mi país: la cena, el intercambio, el baile, la bebida, el Niño Jesús, las uvas y demás, pero de celebrar algo fuera de lo común, considero que no, aunque lo único que puedo tener, pero no en este momento, es un nacimiento, es decir, el nacimiento de neustro niño Dios, el cual mi madre lo colocó en casa durante unos años, pero después que entró en su religión, me lo pasó a mí, pero aún no me lo he traído; es lo único que considero que se conserva en casa de aquella época. Una de las cosas que recuerdo, pero tampoco hay evidencia de eso, es neustro primer árbol de Navidad, el cual realmente no era de lo que conocemos; más bien fue unas ramas que mis padres cortaron y adornaron, de las cuales mi madre hizo los adornos en material de fieltro. Esto nos duró mucho tiempo, pero después de nuestra mudanza todo se perdió. Hoy en día tiene uno más grande y con adornos más reales, aunque el amor de sus primeros adornos lo llevamos en el corazón; es un buen recuerdo de Navidad.
