OK, it took me two days to get over the shock and sit to contemplate the meaning of life.
A red with baked brie? How could this ever be possible?
I concluded that this must be a Cali thing, the land of "fruits and nuts" and not some apocalyptic sign of the ending of the world!

Never had brie with fig jam. I tried a few varieties of brie with fruits through the years but never could get into the sweet taste. I like the walnuts on top. Pine nuts would work too. And mushrooms. Maybe some sliced avocado on the side. And just like that, now I'm hungry.

Yes, I think dates would work in place of figs, especially if you could find some fresh ones, not dried. Even dried might work if you soaked them a little first to plump them a bit! If you try it, please let me know how the Date Jam turns out!

You may cover it with jam all over or a little, wrap it in(frozen) Pillsbury puff pastry, put egg wash for looks, then bake for 35 - 40 minutes in a 350-degree oven.

This is how to wrap your brie with the puff pastry, after putting any prepared jam or preserves, topped with nuts!

When are you coming to California? Are you allowed to travel now with your wife?
We are still not able to travel from our country still to many inconvenient issues and you need the vaccine before they let into a lot of countries we need to let it settle a bit more hopefully at the end of the year but we are planing to go to Phuket in Thailand.
California love to come and see my cousin again in Danville but maybe in a couple years time 😉
