Hello friends of Hive, today is International Women's Day and a photo appeared when I was studying dance with a group of girls, which made me remember those moments with them and I want to tell you a little about this beautiful experience.
Hola amigos de Hive hoy se conmemora el día internacional de la mujer y me apareció una foto de cuando estudiaba danza con un grupo de chicas, el cual me hizo recordar esos momentos con ellas y les quiero contar un poco acerca de esta linda experiencia.
In 2014 I was at an art exhibition and there was a presentation of some girls dancing tribal dance, dark fusion. It was the first time I had seen something like this, some girls with rock clothes but sexy and dancing to the rhythm of metal songs. I really fell in love with this type of dance from that moment. Then I found out that there was an academy where these classes were taught and it was not until 2016 that I was able to start studying it.
En el año 2014 estaba en una exposición de arte y hubo una presentación de unas chicas bailando danza tribal, dark fusión. Era la primera vez que veía algo así, unas chicas con ropa rockera pero sexy y bailando al ritmo de canciones de metal. Realmente quedé enamorada de este tipo de danza desde ese momento. Luego me enteré que había una academia donde dictaban estas clases y no fue hasta el año 2016 que pude empezar a estudiarlo.
The classes were divided into groups and my group was around 20 girls at the beginner level. We start from the most basic, theory, history of dance, its origins and fusions, who were the creators of this style, etc.
Las clases estaban divididas por grupos y mi grupo era de alrededor 20 chicas en nivel principiante. Empezamos desde lo más básico, teoría, historia de la danza, sus orígenes y fusiones, quienes eran las creadoras de este estilo, etc.
Then we move on to practice, such as having control of your body and each movement without losing your balance, having flexibility, managing subtlety and the roughest movements. How to express a feeling with your body so that the public understands and feels it. And most important of all: teamwork.
Luego pasamos a la práctica, como tener control de tu cuerpo y de cada movimiento sin perder el equilibrio, tener flexibilidad, manejar la sutileza y los movimientos más “rudos”. Como expresar con tu cuerpo un sentimiento para que el público lo entienda y sienta. Y lo más importante de todo: trabajo en equipo.
Fortunately these girls in my group were very cool, we supported each other. For example, if someone had trouble with some choreography, someone always offered to help so that they could learn faster or they would rehearse in a house or park outside of class hours so as not to lose the rhythm. In short, it was a very united group where support and friendship were always present. Now for issues in my country, many of us left Venezuela. Some are currently still in the same academy and others no longer dance, but we are always in communication.
Afortunadamente estas chicas de mi grupo eran muy geniales, nos apoyábamos unas a las otras. Por ejemplo, si a alguna le costaba alguna coreografía, siempre alguien se ofrecía a ayudar para que se aprendiera más rápido o se ensayaba en alguna casa o parque fuera de los horarios de clase para no perder el ritmo. En fin, era un grupo muy unido donde el apoyo y la amistad siempre estuvieron presentes. Ahora por cuestiones de mi país, muchas nos fuimos de Venezuela. Algunas actualmente siguen en la misma academia y otras ya no bailan, pero seguimos siempre comunicadas.
