It is on top of the hill? It's immense.
I was standing on top of this and the mountains are to the right in this picture. The observatory was built in the 1930's out of all the lava rock laying around. Great 360° views from there. :)

The curious thing is that one has more snow than the other and they are practically the same size.
I believe there is a big glacier in between the mountains. All the packed ice keeps the snow around longer. The mt on the left is actually about a 1000 feet higher but the steep sides lose the snow faster.
That's right, I hadn't thought of it that way. The steeper the slope, the less snow would accumulate.
Yeah, check out the Snap I did this morning. Same scene but with snow. Shows how the snow doesn't stick as well on the taller mountain.
I will check it out.
I honestly don't know how I'll react when I see and touch snow for the first time. It's something I've always wanted since I was little and it might seem "normal" to someone who lives with snow, but for me it's going to be something very special.
I can imagine. I hope you get the chance to experience snow sometime soon. :)
