I think the first thing is to remove the DV button and indicator, no? The snap itself has no way of showing DV, only if it is configured by hive vote and if we want to somehow show it to other people (onboard) at first maybe it would be better without DV?

I think it's okay for now, we have some profiles that spam and disrupt the feed, but instead of giving DV, we can just ignore or mute, I think that simplifies things as well. We should always try to create a positive and nice place for people to interact.
I think downvote is a so bad thing in Hive, the only bad thing I see here, in fact. Some whales don't use it the "fair way", using theirs power to simply eliminate communities and projects, corrupting something kind of necessary in the ecossistem, I guess

Another idea to reduce the number of icons at the bottom, you could remove the "reply" and leave the balloon, then it will do a count() to see how many replies there have been and if I want to reply, click on the balloon (clicking on it is like clicking on the reply)
For less screen pollution, as long as the post does not receive a downvote or upvote, remove the thumbs up/down icon.

hrmm you know... i like your idea. I'm going to think of how I would do such a thing. Because it would have to be alternating...
the logic of snaps and waves, is that there are two accounts who start new posts, and then snaps are comments underneath the post (replies). So, to get the latest snap or wave, you find the last post made by these accounts and display the replies in order (newest first).
To do what you say, you would have to create a custom stream that would look at both account's replies at the same time, and order the replies in order, regardless of who they are replying to.
