The first thing that came to my mind when I saw the image was a portal to another place, time or dimension.
And I felt that the girl in it is a symbolism that I interpret as hope, which is why I wrote a story about it.

In the middle of March in a convulsed planet with a clear future of war between the powerful nations, several square portals of 3 metres high and wide were appearing in different parts of the world, generally in the outskirts of towns and cities.
They emitted a bright light that served to guide people to them, but they had something particular, not everyone could see them, nor was there any technological device to detect them, which is why those who saw them were branded as crazy by others.
People overcome by curiosity reached them but did not dare to cross them, until in mid-July a girl appeared and invited them to do so, telling them.
-The earth will soon be destroyed, you have been chosen to escape the holocaust, where you are going you will start a new life.
Many accepted and word of the strange event spread.
Soldiers and specialists came to where those who saw them said they were but they could not see them, what they did observe was that some people suddenly disappeared, these were the ones who crossed the portal.
The news went viral, the bewilderment paralysed the planet. In the churches, people preached about the final judgement and the rescue of the righteous into eternity.
The places where the portals were located were filled with people wanting to cross them, but not everyone could see them or get through to the other side.
In some places the people were evicted and the place where the portal was supposedly located was attacked with modern weapons of destruction, but all to no avail.
Then those who claimed to be able to see them were chased and arrested, many were taken to laboratories for experiments, then the portals multiplied and appeared and disappeared in the places where these people were taken, who did not hesitate to take the step and disappear from the face of the planet, before the impotence of the captors.
By mid-October, these mysterious gates were disappearing and the great powers were stepping up their verbiage about the imminent mutual attack, branding the portals as some secret weapon of the other.
Within a week of the last gate disappearing, the first atomic bomb fell on US soil and Armageddon began,
Certainly, it is possible that the earth will be destroyed, but by our own conscienceless ways of treating it.
We are on the road to self-destruction, fast.
The end will come sooner than we expect because even now, the world has been driven to the brink of collapse by the people who live in it.
The end is inevitable, every beginning has an end, and the human race will not escape it.
Hehehehe... This is the beginning of the end and it does remind me of the great "Rapture".
