In Venezuela, the Christmas dish consists of chicken salad, pernil or black roast, ham bread, and the popular hallaca.

The way the hallaca is made can vary, but in the end, it comes to the same thing. A pie filled with meat: beef, pork, chicken, all that stewed with a sauce that contains countless ingredients depending on the region of the country. The ingredients can be olives, capers, potatoes, eggs, fried bananas, chickpeas, tomatoes, paprika, garlic, onions, and whatever comes to mind for the one who is cooking it.

All this is transformed into something delicious, which is the hallaca. It is accompanied by a good piece of leg or black roast, or baked chicken. In addition, it is accompanied by a delicious chicken salad and what for me is the best of all: ham bread.

The ham bread is prepared with a filling that includes smoked ham, olives, bacon, and raisins. Some people put cream cheese on it, I don't like it with that, and it is bathed with egg white and diluted paper to then go to the oven. It also changes its preparation or ingredients depending on the region of the country or the person who prepares it.

I am a ham bread lover; I may lack everything else, but ham bread never.

In the picture is one that my daughter-in-law prepared, which is the best thing I've ever tasted and weighs a kilo and measures half a meter, all for me alone.

En Venezuela, el plato navideño consta de ensalada de gallina, pernil o asado negro, pan de jamón y la popular hallaca.
La forma como se hace la hallaca puede variar, pero al final viene a ser lo mismo. Un pastel relleno de carne: res, cerdo, pollo, todo eso guisado con una salsa que contiene infinidad de ingredientes según la región del país. Los ingredientes pueden ser aceitunas, alcaparras, papas, huevos, plátanos fritos, garbanzos, tomates, pimentón, ajo, cebollas y lo que se le ocurra al que la está cocinando.
Todo eso se transforma en algo delicioso que es la hallaca. A ella se le acompaña con un buen trozo de pernil o asado negro o pollo horneado. Además, la acompaña una deliciosa ensalada de gallina y el que para mí es lo mejor de todos: el pan de jamón.
El pan de jamón es preparado con un relleno que incluye jamón ahumado, aceitunas, tocineta, pasas, algunos le colocan queso crema, a mí no me gusta con eso y se baña con clara de huevo y papelón diluido para después ir al horno. También cambia su preparación o ingredientes dependiendo de la región del país o de la persona que lo prepara.
Yo soy amante del pan de jamón; me puede faltar todo lo demás, pero el pan de jamón nunca.
En la imagen está uno que prepara mi nuera, que es lo mejor que he probado y que pesa un kilo y mide medio metro, todo para mí solito.

That is a lovely dish

In my culture, we have various traditional dishes for the holiday season. But one common dish you will always find during the holidays, both at home, at night bars, or even high-end restaurants, is "Isi ewu," meaning goat head. Many people believe it's the sweetest part of goat meat, and honestly, I think so, too!

It's a very delicious dish that's often served in a wooden mortar, as shown in the picture. The mortar gives it a really traditional feel, added with the leaves and local spices used in the preparation. This dish is usually served with palm wine or alcohol, as preferred. Personally, this meal gives me hope that culture is still alive and upholding it continues from the little things like making our traditional meals always available during every holiday period.

For these Christmas holidays here in Venezuela we have a traditional dish that is very good and is prepared in every house for December 24th, which has salad, ham bread, meat, hallaca and a glass of soda, being the perfect combination and most desired by all Venezuelans.

Para estas fechas de navidad aquí en venezuela contamos con un plato tradicional que es muy bueno y en todas las casas se prepara para el día 24 de diciembre, la cual tiene ensalada, pan de jamón, carne, hallaca y un vaso de refresco, siendo la combinación perfecta y más deseada por todos los venezolanos.

Hello, greetings to all. The traditional Christmas dish in my country, Venezuela, is hallaca, accompanied by chicken salad, potatoes and carrots, with slices of bread with ham and pork leg, which can also be substituted with chicken or roast beef.
Unfortunately, not everyone today has the privilege of eating such a complete dish; some can only eat hallacas with ham bread or simply hallaca alone.

Among the sweet dishes enjoyed during the Christmas season is the black cake, made with candied fruits macerated for a year in wine or rum, and some even macerate them for up to 20 years. This cake is very similar to a wedding cake, featuring candied fruits and some nuts, and is decorated with a glaze of powdered sugar and lemon juice.

While living in Cuba, the quintessential Christmas dish was roast pork. However, that changed when I came to live here in Spain, where roast turkey is the most common Christmas dish. Nevertheless, my family and I make both dishes, interchangeably.

Talking about traditional dinner dishes for any significant occasion, like Christmas in Cuba, always leads us to a menu that's a recurring theme in every Cuban's wish list. It's roast pork as the main course, rice with black beans (or "arroz moro"), yucca with mojo sauce or fried, and fried plantains.

To be honest, right now, this remains just a wish for many Cubans here due to the high prices of each ingredient. But hope springs eternal as long as there's a smile on our faces.

It's very simple, since the typical Christmas dish in my country is the same for all holidays throughout the year: roasted pork leg or whole pig, rice and beans, yucca with mojito (or tostones), and tomato salad. You can add anything else to this, but this menu will always be the basis of the entire celebration.

Yes, this is the eating and enjoying season to the extent that some people do eat some types of food that is not agreeable with their body systems, thereby becoming sick.

We mostly eat rice, stew and chicken or any other types of meat. Some goes as far as using fish. Just any kind of protein anyone can afford is ok, in my own country, Nigeria.

In Cuba, the quintessential dish is pork in any of its forms (roasted, stewed, fried, and so on). Depending on what's available, you might cook a whole pig, a suckling pig, or just a cut (leg, shoulder, rib, etc.) or other cuts of meat.

And, of course, it's served with root vegetables, especially yucca with plenty of mojito.

Hello everyone, glad to join you. Well, the first big holiday in winter in Ukraine is Holy Supper. The traditional dish is kutya. It is a symbol of the beginning of the Christmas holidays and the reunion of the whole family at one table. Traditionally, there should be 12 different Lenten dishes on the table, but the main one on the table should be kutya. As a rule, it should be prepared by the head of the family. The main ingredients of this dish are wheat, poppy seeds, honey, dried fruits, nuts, sugar and a little water.

Am from the south south region of Nigeria, and we have different delicacies that make different occasions. For the Christmas season tge one that stands out the most is known as afia efere with pounded interpreted as white south and rounded yam. It's a nice delicacy, and everyone within and region and even visitors enjoy it once it's served

Los venezolanos celebramos una cena en familia en donde es tradicional tener hallaca, pernil o cochino, ensalada de pollo, pan de jamón. Nuestra hallaca es comparada a veces con un tamal. Pero siguiendo la historia de su creación fue el resultado de una mezcla indígena, africana y venezolana. Un guiso de carne dentro de masa de maíz, envuelto en hojas de platano ahumadas previamente y cocinadas en agua. No se siente una mesa completa sin estos ingredientes. Y a mi no me puede faltar un postre como el quesillo.

Venezuelans celebrate a family dinner where it's traditional to have hallacas, roasted pork leg (pernil or cochino), chicken salad, and ham bread. Our hallaca is sometimes compared to a tamale. But following the history of its creation, it's the result of an indigenous, African, and Venezuelan fusion. It's a meat stew inside a corn dough, wrapped in plantain leaves that have been smoked and then boiled. A table isn't complete without these ingredients. And for me, a dessert like quesillo is a must.

In my family, which has roots in Sweden, a traditional winter dish we always look forward to is Janssons Frestelse. It's a creamy potato and anchovy gratin that's surprisingly delicious! Thinly sliced potatoes are layered with onions, pickled sprats, breadcrumbs, and cream, then baked until golden and bubbly. The combination of the creamy potatoes, the salty fish, and the crispy breadcrumbs is just incredible. It's a hearty and comforting dish that's perfect for a cold winter Christmas evening.

Our food is hallaca, a delicious bread with roasted pork and lots of ham bread with raisins. So good!

There's a drink we call kunu it's made with guinea corn. When the family have come together during the festive period, this drink keeps us together

Here in Argentina it's always summer during the Christmas holidays, but our culture has always led us to eat a lot of sweets (something we're used to in winter). Pan dulce (sweet bread) has also become traditional here, but between the dishes (Russian salad, Vitel Toné, piononos, and stuffed tomatoes), there are some really delicious meals.

I don't have any pictures right now, but traditionally a hallaca accompanied by ham bread and chicken salad is the most traditional thing we can share at Christmas with family and friends.

Goat Meat Pepper Soup
This is very delicious and give the scent of an African he goat. It is a watery soup that is usually eaten with boiled yam or rice. In fact, you can eat it with whatever you please.

To prepare this, first chop the goat meat in sizeable pieces, wash them and then you put it on the fire to cook. You will need to add the ingredients.
