Unlike many, the Christmas memories I cherish most are those I have from adulthood, since sharing them with my children and grandchildren is very valuable to me because I lost my parents at a young age.
Oh, dear. Losing a parent or two must be very tough as a kid. But life works in a way that we get some compensation for your losses. I'm glad that you have love and you're surrounded by your kids and grandkids. Wishing you many more happy Christmases.❤️
For more than ten years, I spent every Christmas Day with my little ones. As a former early childhood educator, celebrating each Christmas with the children—adorning the tree with beautiful gifts—brought me immense joy.🎉🎉🎉
That's exciting celebrating Christmas with children
The joy of children at Christmas time is a wonderful energy that is always worth remembering.
Happy holidays to you!
Hello!
Hoping that a smile graces each of your faces today, I'd like to share my favorite childhood Christmas memory.
In my country, I had a childhood where celebrating Christmas wasn't allowed, but I did have a memorable experience when I received a very large, transparent plastic clock as a gift. You could see all the inner workings that made it possible to tell time. I was told that Santa Claus had brought it to me, giving it to my maternal grandmother when she first visited the United States.
That clock allowed me to learn to tell time at the age of four. I was a proud child because of it.
And so, with the joy of recalling this memory, I send you all a warm and loving hug!
My tailor disappointed me and didn't deliver the cloth that he was to sew before the Christmas day. I had to go to his shop on the morning of 25th waited till he finished sewing before I took the clothes back home and wore to church.
Ah! What a terrible experience! It's not funny to be disappointed on Christmas
Hahahah seriously ooo
My favorite Christmas memory from my childhood was when I was 10 years old. In 1995, because of the blackouts in the country and the crisis, it had been several years since the whole family from San José de las Lajas had gathered together (I also have family in Havana and Camagüey).
I remember my cousins and uncles arriving in the morning with little boxes of gifts, and we didn’t know who they were for. Everyone was busy doing something around the house while my cousins Mario and Mariantonieta and I played in the rooms. At night we enjoyed a big dinner together, full of delicious foods and sweets I hadn’t seen in years, along with the joy we all shared. Later, we gathered around the Christmas tree, which was beautiful but very small, and I noticed it was surrounded by little gift boxes. My mother handed each of us a slip of paper, and when you opened it, there was a number—each number matched one of the gift boxes. In the end, we had so much fun and laughed a lot, especially when my cousin Mario opened his gift and it was a beautiful doll, while my cousin’s gift was a little water pistol 😅. They agreed to swap their presents.
After that, I remember the adults singing while the three of us (my cousin, my cousin, and I) sneaked off to the room and ate a big package of chocolate cookies shaped like animals. It was a wonderful day. That night we all went to sleep happy and united, although the next day “the little cookie gluttons” spent most of the time in the bathroom 🤣🤣🤣🤣.
That memory is very good; how I have laughed, especially for the gifts of the doll and the gun. I think this memory of yours stays with me; I will not forget this anecdote.
Happy holidays to you!
Above all, I remember my cousin’s little face, just about to cry 🤣🤣🤣. Happy Holidays to you too 🥳🥳🥳Have a good day
I eagerly awaited the arrival of Christmas because I knew that my family would be coming from the capital city of my country. My grandmother's house would fill with people, more than 20, including children and grandchildren; it was like a party that lasted two weeks straight. My uncles were always celebrating, and my cousins and I were always playing. Sharing with them, playing without limits, and enjoying my family and my grandmother, who is no longer with us, was the best part of Christmas for me.
Christmas is always full of fun
When I was a child, it was the same; the Christmas season was a gathering of the whole family in a house, and those days were of celebration, laughter, playing with cousins, and maximum joy.
Happy holidays to you!
I still consider myself a child. So, my best memory was from last year winning some of the Advent Calendar games by @ecency
😂what a memory 🤣🤣🤣
goldfish memory !LOLZ
Ecency's advent calendar gifts are very good; I have enjoyed them too.
Happy holidays to you!
Agree and happy 💯holidays to you too

My Christmas favourite memories from childhood were when I was still in my teen stage; we travelled down to the village, met most of the extended family, ate from one family's house to another, collected Christmas money, and got all the disco lights and bangers... Those memories were lovely, but growing up, things changed and became less fun. I loved all my teenage Christmas celebrations.
My favorite Christmas memory is when my mom used to wake us up and she’d have cookies, juice, milk, sandwiches and maybe even a few presents for us on Christmas morning.
We didn’t have a lot, so every year we’d make peace with the fact that we wouldn’t be celebrating Christmas.
And yet every year she still managed to surprise us 🩷
My favorite memories of Christmas during childhood are those times when we visit the Santa claus. I used to be afraid but will like to get the gift from him. I also coordinate my siblings in decorating the house with different greeting card, visiting family and friends
Wow, I have a lot of Christmas memories but the outstanding has to do with the special dishes made on Christmas day. As children we don't play with those nice food and meat. It is not as if we don't eat them on other days but Christmas rice, chicken and fruit juices are always special and cherished.
Haha, yes! I can relate. Even when we are able to afford the African jollof or rice and stew on Sundays, it always feels different when it's Christmas. Cooking the meals in large pots while singing with our families and eventually eating the biggest chicken we would have eaten the entire year. What a lovely time!🤗
Yeah, you are there. Nobody plays with Christmas rice and chicken. Such a lovely day.
Q recuerdo tan lindo.felices fiestas.
My childhood memories of Christmas are of family gatherings, sharing food, and preparing hallacas. We're separated now, but we stay in touch, and I still love Christmas despite everything.
Q rico. Feliz Navidad 🎄 🤶 🫶 😘
The Christmas season has always been for my family and me, including children, a wonderful time full of abundance, joy, and love.
When I move back to my childhood memories, the holidays immediately jump out: cheerful school meetings, decorations at home, putting up the Christmas tree, the lights, and seeing how, day by day, more and more gift boxes appeared under the tree. It was like watching a very emotional movie, and you didn't know who the gift was for because Mom wouldn't let you see the cards, so we used our imagination to guess who each gift was for.
But the most exciting or favorite thing, besides the fact that you probably had one or more gifts under the tree, was also the arrival of Santa or the Baby Jesus was something wonderful, but their gifts did not reach the Christmas tree, but always appeared under each other's beds. Since Christmas Eve, we all always checked under the beds to see if he had arrived.
Many times, it was the early morning of Christmas, and nothing had arrived, and we fell into surrender. At dawn, it was then that we realized, and that was because someone was shouting: "The gifts arrived!
What a joy, how wonderful Christmas is!
Merry Christmas to everyone!
Feliz Navidad 😘. Que emoción es este tiempo navideño. Tus memorias son hermosas.
Beautiful, you Jesica!, for your kindness in reading my comment and replying to it. That for me is of great value, and more when your comment has been very beautiful, with a lot of divine energy. Thank you, thank you, and a thousand thanks.
My best wishes to you and yours this holiday season.
You have a corduroy here in Caracas.
Muchas gracias. Es un placer. Felices fiestas navideñas desde Cuba. Igual para tu familia. 🥰🎄🫶
Hello!
Well, my favourite Christmas childhood memory was the opening of gifts in December 25th in my grandparents home. It happened after breakfast, when I went under the tree and get the gift. The present might be socks, dresses or toys. I cherished each one of them.
Have a great day everyone!
My favorite memory from childhood it's a frosty Xmas morning, I woke up and feel that magical smell of fresh cooked gingerbread which made my grandma. My grandpa just came in and brought special gifts to all family members. Xmas tree decorated with oldtime toys and oranges whose aroma gives feeling of holiday!
Thank you for sharing this information, it is very interesting.
We used to set up a Nativity scene full of figures, with its little shepherds looking after the sheep, and even a Roman soldier or two, where there was always a river and mountains in the background.
I always placed the Three Wise Men in the furthest corner and, every day, I would move them a little closer to the stable.
I suppose it was just an excuse to be able to play and move all the little figures in the process, but I still remember how as a child I could spend hours in front of that scene, frozen in time, of a city that only existed in a corner of my living room, made of aluminum foil and moss.
Hello, good morning everyone. My favorite day as a child was December 15, because from that date onwards, my relatives from other cities around the country would arrive to spend Christmas at my house. My house only has four rooms, and we slept there as best we could, some in beds, others on mattresses on the floor, and the adults in hammocks. We always made hallacas on December 24, so early in the morning, we would all wake up and start helping to chop the seasonings, make the stew, and do the work that no one wanted to do because it was so tedious: cleaning the leaves for the hallacas. We would draw lots because no one really wanted to do it. But the most eagerly awaited moment was the arrival of my grandmother. She lived in the countryside and always came on that date, loaded with things. She brought free-range eggs, chicken, or turkey for the hallacas, and when she arrived, we all ran out to greet her.
That is the most beautiful moment I have.
Today, she is no longer with us physically, but her memory will live on forever. Christmas was the most eagerly awaited time of year, at least for me, because the whole family was always together. Until more than a decade ago, sadly my older sister died of a heart attack in December; from then on, Christmas was a time of nostalgia. Then my daughter was born eight years ago, and she loves this time of year because of the gifts and decorations. She has restored my enthusiasm and love for this wonderful season, and everything is starting to be like it used to be. She has many cousins her age, some older, some younger, so the house is once again filled with joy.
My favourite Christmas memory from childhood is during the Christmas period we went to the village to visit my grandma then, when she was still alive.
So both me, my siblings and mom travelled to the village, my dad didn't come back earlier with us, so the day he later came back to the village, he bought toys for me and my junior brother.
A man riding a motorcycle and an aeroplane, so my dad said he bought the aeroplane #200, and bought the motorcycle #150, so i loved the motorcycle own , so i was asked to collect first before my junior brother because am the eldest son, so my junior brother collected the aeroplane.
So do to my age and the way I love the motorcycle own then, I told my junior brother that #150 is bigger than #200, hahaha...we argued until we went and asked my Dad, my dad said #200 is bigger than #150, I disagreed... hahahahah....it wasn't an easy argument...we thank God who has been leading us since then to now, I say all glory and adoration be unto him in Jesus powerful name .Amen🙏

My favorite Christmas memory from childhood is, it's often a magical and joyful experience that stays with me even till now 🎄❤️ Something like:
Receiving a special gift🎁
Decorating the Christmas tree with family
Singing carols or watching a favorite holiday movie
Enjoying traditional Christmas food, like jollof rice and Ice cream 🍨🍦 🍦
Spending time with loved ones, like family gatherings or visiting Santa 🎅
When I think of Christmas from my childhood, one vivid memory always comes back to me that I will remember for the rest of my life. It's December, it's cold outside and it's snowing. The wood stove that we used to heat the house crackles in the house. I was awakened by the warmth of the oven and the smell of my grandmother's apples with cinnamon. The lights on the Christmas tree were burning in the living room, and my grandfather was sitting by the window holding the little red car he bought for me. I wanted one just like the one my friend from the neighborhood has.
I didn't understand it then, but today I know that it wasn't just a gift, but a way for my grandfather to tell me that I was loved. That home is where they are waiting for you, even before you open your eyes. Still, every winter, when December comes, I remember this beautiful event for me and feel that same quiet warmth... as if their voice were coming back to hug me.
My favorite Christmas memory is finding the hidden pickle ornament on my grandmother's tree when I was small. It won me a set of art supplies, sparking my lifelong passion. The fun of the hunt and being with family that made it so special.
My best memories of past Christmases were when the whole family gathered for dinner, even relatives from other states. Unfortunately, some left the country and others passed away, but those are definitely the best moments—remembering when we all shared a meal together and laughed a lot at my uncle's stories and jokes.
In my country, Christmas is not celebrated, but it's the holiday season here also. And I am here to grab the rewards😅. So, I am sharing my best holiday memory from childhood.
It was the time when I was in class 6, and my age was approximately 11/12. My father returned home from abroad in December. He brought a lot of things for me, including chocolates. Later in that month, I visited many places with my family. It's the most memorable December for me from my childhood.
Getting insane amount of snow! So much I could disapear in it :D
My favorite memory is having the whole family together. It's something that will never happen again, but it feels both sad and beautiful to think about it. We never really celebrated Christmas properly because of the situation in my country, but we did get together for dinner, and that was really lovely. Now life is a bit more solitary.
So... in Germany, it's always the “Christkind” who comes at Christmas, not Santa Claus. When I was young, around 5 years old, my sister and I always had to leave the family and the Christmas tree on Christmas Eve and go to our room because the “Christkind” was coming to distribute the presents. Then my parents would ring a bell to signal that we could come downstairs because the Christ Child had been there and left again. That's one of my fondest memories, and when I have children of my own, I want to continue this tradition.
As I live in a communist country Christmas wasn't reinstated as a national holiday till 1997 when Pope Jean Paul II visited. The closest to a Christmas memory was around January when coupons for toys were distributed on a first come, first served basis and you got to buy 3 kinds of them, the so called basic, non basic and set type. Never got good numbers as my parents were working and couldn't queue for these numbers till after work so I never got cool toys to have fond memories of. Only now I celebrate Christmas...
Hi friends! Glad to be here again this year and in this beautiful period of the year!
My Christmas childhood memories... Mmm...
Good question 🙂
Well, I remember myself when I was a child being "The Star" in the church's performance.
I was not selected since the beginning for that character, but I had the chance because the girl that was selected was ill close to the Christmas celebration and I already knew the Star's text.
As soon as my mother knew the last news, she looked for my dress (it had to be white) and long. I had to dress like a princess.
That year I had the opportunity to shine like a true star with my performance and to make my community happy and have fun with my funny texts.
By that years, Christmas was celebrated for the kids first from 22 hs to 00 hs, and then people used to celebrate the mass, because it is on December 24th and waiting the 25th.
At 20 hs, at home, we used to had dinner. We all sat around the table and shared smiles and laughter and memories together while eating.
We had beautiful years in the past. And it's good to remember them.
Thanks for this 🙏❤️
Wow. This initiative is full of Christmas warmth and love, which is the most precious thing there is. The calendar is beautiful. In my case, it was my mother who instilled in me a love for Christmas. We always exchanged gifts, mixing different traditions such as Santa Claus and the baby Jesus. I remember that in catechism class we always did a play about the birth of the baby Jesus, which combined magic and joy. Thank you @ecency for this great Christmas spirit and @irisworld for such beautiful illustrations of the ecency advent calendar that show the beauty of Christmas and the excitement of the spirits. Greetings to everyone. Merry Christmas 🎄🎅🫶 [ traducido con DeepL]
Wao. Saludos a tod@s . Feliz Navidad 🎄🎅🫶
Christmas is one of the most beautiful times of the year, and I enjoyed it to the fullest during my childhood, since every December I received gifts from all my relatives. The best part was that I have a brother with dark hair, so my brother and I shared our gifts, and that's why I looked forward to this time of year to play, share, and be very happy.
Waking up because my parents were hyperventilating that "Santa came"
My favourite Christmas memory from childhood dates back to a time in 2010 when I had just finished elementary school, and my favourite neighbour at the time, surprised me with a fancy thermos food flask as a Christmas gift. I recall his reason stemmed from the fact that my previous one was old, and I never really complained that I needed a new one, unlike other kids who also knew their parents lacked the means but still requested much from them. He also gave my parents some money, enough to get me new dresses and shoes for the season
Frankly, it's one of the memories I've never been able to forget because I still remember how happy I felt on that day.
I had a new flask to take to school as a fresh high school kid, and I also had new clothes and shoes to step out with for Christmas parties!🥹
The Christmas Memories I cherish was the ones I've celebrated with my families. The chit chat, the fun, the food and the movies.
