Hi, currently inviting a new user to hive come with no rewards. A few motnhs ago on inleo it cam with a bunch of leofinance tokens but due to the scheme of the rewards there were easily cheated (simply make an alt account and do random crap to farm rewards, which quite a few users did i think more or less).
Therefore we could imagine a new scheme of rewards when inviting a friend on hive based on beneficiary, with this we incentive users to invite friends and other people as they get a reward for onboarding them. Since this system would reward based on the posting rewards you would be incentivized to explain to your referee how to correctly make posts, no get downvotes, write etc. Win-win, better onboarding for the new users and better incentive for people to provide this higher quality onboarding. The good part is since the rewards come from posts well it's "easy" to prevent abuse, when i say this i mean that the posts are evaluated by people all time and downvotes if not in the scope of what a post should be to be rewarded which would already reduce/remove a lot of the spam/farming.
For sure, it's not the blockchain role to provide the reward/referral function but the one of dapps, i wrote this with the consideration that there should be a reward from brining new users but should there even be one ?

it is very different.
posting is writing on your own, you bear the responsibilities, you get the rewards.
onboarding is different. you get the rewards, but will you bear the responsibility? for your case. let say you onboard your neighbor into hive, you get rewards. Then he/she does something stupid, let say using AI and spammings, and HW or any other community punish them... so you must bear the same result right? you get something from their existence for sure
Not really because refferal rewards or not you will be "linked" to your refferals, The refferal do shit he just dont get rewards and neither do you
that's your perception, other have right to disagree and hold different point of views. It happened several times before, the onboarders got punished too so I stands for no incentive at all about it.
Up to now, I have no more activities on onboarding, what I do is only about retention and I take no credits of it.
