⛈️ ⛈️ Flooding... A trip to find fishing nets and a delicious breakfast in Trang.

Hello, my lovely friends.

It took me a while to finish moving my belongings, and I thought I hadn't posted. I'm definitely feeling guilty today.

I'd like to share the current situation in Na Taluang Subdistrict, Trang Municipality. Due to continuous rain for several days, the water level in the Trang River has risen rapidly. This, coupled with a slight surge of seawater, has caused flooding in many areas of the village where I live. My family is one of those affected by the fish escaping the pond crisis, which needs urgent attention. Last night, I fell asleep without realizing the rising water level. The result is that the water has flooded my garden and overflowed my fish pond. I suspect the fish escaped the pond in the middle of the night. When I woke up this morning, I was shocked to find that the water in front of the garden, where the ducks and chickens are fed and where the pets play, is now knee-high.

With the burden of the end of the month and the chaos that has occurred, my husband and I decided that this morning we must rush to the market to buy a "net" to catch the escaping fish as soon as possible, even though it is still raining (it has been raining all day and all night).

🚗 Looking for fishing nets... amidst the morning chaos

We drove into Trang's downtown market this morning, and as expected, traffic was quite congested due to the start of school, and parking was scarce. Luckily, we found a spot for one car.
After parking, we wandered around, looking for a fishing tackle shop or fishing net shop. The first one we planned to visit wasn't open yet, so we explored the streets around the old market, but still couldn't find the one we were looking for. We decided to ask around. The Trang locals were very kind. They recommended us to a large shop at the "three-way intersection," which they said was the largest and had the cheapest prices. The shop they recommended was not far from where we were standing, but the problem was that it opened at 8:30 AM, while it was only 7:30 AM.

The staff warmly welcomed us and invited us to sit at our table. Then, a large tray of dim sum was brought to our table for us to choose from. My husband chose the dim sum, while I ordered two pairs of delicious-looking fried dough sticks with kaya custard. My husband, who was so kind, ordered a cup of hot coffee and a cup of hot tea, along with a bowl of thin noodles with pork ribs (or mee hoon ribs, as they're called).
The food arrived quickly, typical of Southern breakfast restaurants.
The fried dough sticks were incredibly soft and delicious, dipped in the not-too-sweet kaya custard, and paired with the hot coffee was truly amazing.
The pork rib noodles were also delicious, and with a little lime juice, the flavors were perfectly balanced and pleasing to both of us.
My husband chose a variety of dim sum, taking a bite or two and sharing a few, made this morning very filling and enjoyable.
After we finished eating, I made sure to order some delicious mee hoon ribs and mee hoon ribs, and some mee hoon ribs, to take home for my sister.

🎣 Mission accomplished and the joy of sharing

After finishing our meal, we checked the clock and realized it wasn't yet time to open at the intersection we'd planned to go to. We decided to continue searching in the market, and finally...we found a fishing tackle shop in front of Trang Market. After successfully purchasing a fishing net, we hurried home to deal with the pending flood situation.
It was a very busy day, with moving belongings out of the water and, crucially, setting up the nets to catch fish. But the fatigue disappeared when we turned this crisis into an opportunity. We invited friends and neighbors to help catch fish that were escaping from the pond. It was a fun activity and a great way to encourage community support. Even though the water level was rising, the cooperation and small joys of sharing fish got us through the chaos.
There were so many lovely things happening in this chaos.

For today, I must say goodbye. Thank you, my friend. See you again next time. Thank you for following and supporting me. Thank you very much.
