🌊 From adventurer to flood victim, a day of struggle for Trang residents
Hello, my lovely friends.
Yesterday was another tough and challenging day in my life in Trang Province. As many of you know, the images we've only seen on the news have now become reality right in front of my house. Floodwaters have steadily inundated the area, turning my small house and garden into an island in the middle of the water in an instant.
🐔 Urgent mission: survival of furry friends While the exhaustion from carrying things might be bearable, the biggest concern is the little ones in the garden, especially my beloved egg-laying chickens. They can't swim. Seeing the water rising, I had to quickly conduct a rescue operation for the pets. I had to quickly move the fighting chickens to the upper level of the garden house for safety, prepare food and water, and ensure that all of my furry friends would survive safely in a dry place. It was a hectic and worrying task, but seeing them safely up high in the garden to rest was a relief.
🏡 Providing a home for the heart when a crisis creates empathy In addition to supplies and pets, The most urgent need is to provide shelter. I have three small houses that have been affected by the flooding. Meanwhile, the large white house on the canal road, which wasn't as badly affected as the others, has become a crucial refuge for my relatives. I've decided to open my large canal-side house to my relatives, as they've been hit far more severely by the flooding than I have. Sharing shelter during this difficult time for everyone is heartwarming, even though I'm physically exhausted. This is a true demonstration of the kindness of the people of Trang, who help each other during this crisis.

💪 Keep fighting and waiting for the new sunshine.
Although the overall situation remains worrying, the images of support and simple meals (rice porridge with morning glory and fried fish) filled with love and encouragement, let me know that we will definitely get through this. Stay strong, me!

🛶 The Day the Water Still Floods: A Fish-Collecting Mission and Photos Behind the Temple After breakfast, my determination led me out of the house and headed to my backyard, which had recently experienced severe flooding. This journey was unlike any other, as the surrounding scenery had completely changed due to the water's still-receding effects.
Journey to the Transformed Garden
I traveled with my camera, documenting the changes along the way. The once-dry garden had transformed into a vast wetland, resembling a small lake with patches of vegetation emerging from the water.

The first image captured was of a second-story hut, perched high above the water, providing shelter during floods (as seen in the first image). The surrounding area appeared lush with water flowing from higher ground to lower ground.
Upon reaching the garden area, our primary goal was to retrieve fish from nets set up during the floods, an exciting and plentiful activity during a crisis. The second image shows the efforts of the participants, wading through knee-deep water, aided by a small blue boat as a reliable means of transport and assistance.
A Gift from the Water
And the effort was not in vain. We managed to secure a sufficient amount of fish for cooking, a gift from nature during floods. It was a small gift that helped to heal our hearts amidst the challenges.
Returning by boat...capturing photos behind the temple
After completing our fish-collecting mission, we chose to return by boat, traveling along the route behind the temple, another area clearly affected by the floods. Cruising behind the temple offered an interesting perspective.

I didn't miss the chance to capture the flooded area behind the temple as evidence. The last image reveals an ancient building with a red roof and a tall chimney (likely a crematorium) nestled amidst the still-flooding water. It represents the tranquility of nature's rebalancing.
This morning's journey was more than just collecting fish; it was about experiencing and capturing the changing nature and the way of life that had to adapt to the flooding. These photographs serve as a reminder of the abundance and resilience of the people who live alongside the water.

I hope you and your family and community are able to recover fully from the flooding. You have been through so much! I'm glad you were able to rescue your chickens.
