Learning the lesson

Never give up is a mantra a lot of people use. I did use to believe being stubborn was what made me strong, like if I just kept doing the same things, eventually they would come together for me. Not true at all

I've noticed a common thread when things continue to go wrong about the same way, it's because I'm doing the same thing and still expecting a different result. When you say it like that it seems obvious but it's really not that easy to see when you're in the middle of it.

You tell yourself it's just bad luck or timing or other people are just not seeing things your way. Which may be the case sometimes, I'm not really sure. But most of the time, if you really want to objectively evaluate the situation, it's because you're not continuing to change your approach to what you're trying to do and it's not working.

It's almost as though the universe or life or whatever you want to call it continues to put the same pitfall in front of you until you actually figure out what it is you need to learn from it. And not in a spiritual way, but in an annoying practical way.

Looking back at what I've experienced, the toughest part is recognizing the pattern in the first place. It's so easy to convince yourself before you enter a situation that this time is going to be different.

I'm not very good at recognizing it while it is actually happening to me. I do however try to be aware that when I get the same frustration or an indication of something wrong, happen time after time, I need to stop and analyze the situation. Sometimes that will give me the insight I need to change it up a little. I hope this is something that'll help you in a time where you need to decide your next move with regards to a situation that keeps happening over and over again in your life.
