Oh yeah, removing stumps is so much fun. Not. We transplanted a 10 year old Cedrón-Bush at the school (for no good reason, as we found out in the end, but that's another story), it was quite the job between 4 people.
If the tree is already dead, there are other ways though. There are some things that accelerate degradation, and I think there's a special way to burn them to make it easier.
Impressive that you made it through. 7h is a loooooong time. But I get the feeling that it provokes. I really have to get back to gardening. That compost definitely needs to be sifted. Hope your soreness goes away, soon!
