Unfortunately, I tend to overdo it in the gym, or at least I sometimes don't lift the weight in the right positions, causing me some pain. I wasn't able to train much during the strikes now, as Lily can't go to school, so my muscles and tendons and everything I mistreated had time to heal. Also, I'm more aware of how I lift he weights now, and how much.
A question considering your considerable amount of knowledge about health - did most of it come from doctors advice and information from them, or is it mostly your own reading and informing yourself?
the how is very important and it takes learning, practice and then the discipline to get it right before getting heavier. Many rush, but as soon as there is a bit more more weight, the form suffers.
When it comes to what I know, it is a bit of both. I have always been interested in health, but when I was mid-teens, I got chronically ill with a stomach disorder (still today) and the doctors at the time screwed me up worse. I spent the next 15 years with no medication at all, not even painkillers, instead trying to learn all I could to improve by myself. About 7 years ago I started getting some newer treatment that has helped and taken some of the anxiety and cognitive load off of treating myself. Then the stroke happened and it required learning a lot again, and due to the way the system seems to work here, I got no help so it was back to learning all I could again. Trial and error is a great teacher, as is having a wide social network that includes a large amount of people with a wide variety of overlapping problems. I observe, question, and learn from them too.
I figured so much, with your amount of illness that you had to go through. Pretty impressive, honestly. The social network part is interesting, I hadn't thought about that. My whole family works in healthcare and had quite a chunk of bad illness, and I learned a lot through that. But now that I think about it, there is indeed a lot of other people around me that have their ailing, and I did catch up quite a bit from them, too.
