RE: Where DId It Go and What Did I Do With It?

in Reflections2 years ago

I'm so sorry you've been feeling this way Joe. To be honest, it's happened to me too in the past. The only thing I can suggest is to start tackling it one step at a time. I find writing a list useful and list things to do by priority. Make sure that you balance the things you like least with some that you enjoy.

Perhaps it's not so much time management that is the issue, but it's a mindset shift that is required. Sometimes I get stumped by things because of the way I think about them and it's the thought process that surrounds them that then starts a negative snowball effect. Perhaps focusing more on just getting one thing done off your list will motivate you to start on the next. That's how I fixed my car fan - a little bit at a time.

Sort:

It could be mindset, but not sure. Some of the things I like doing, I just find myself getting distracted easily and then go down rabbit holes of sorts. Making the to-do list is something I used to do a great deal. I need to start keep a running to-do list again. Good job on the car fan.

Distraction these days is everywhere so I totally get it. To do lists not only help with keeping you on track, you get some satisfaction out of ticking them off and feeling productive in the process, even if it's just little things, it can spur you on. I'm going to have to start doing it more again soon too or I forget things and they slide off my radar.
