Coffee and I are old friends (coffee is older than me of course) and I do a lot of thinking over coffee. With this in mind I decided to start a little concept called thoughts over coffee which I'll be doing from time to time.
I don't like laziness or reward it and while I don't have anything against down-time, relaxation, doing nothing and such other legitimate activities being lazy grinds my gears. There's many different forms of laziness including below.
Laziness - Nothing to do?
Most of the people I associate with are what I'd call go-getters meaning they take responsibility for their lives and actions rather than being passengers floating along aimlessly. I'm the same.
I hear people whining about there being nothing to do, or about not knowing what to do, and it always makes me feel a little bemused and certainly sad for those people who's lives must be very boring and uninspiring. I see it as laziness though, (and a lack of ownership), as there's always a million things a person could be doing...unproductive things but, better than that, productive things!
Some people just sort of lapse into the doldrums though, it happens, and some of that is habit and some probably due to the failure to set goals, take ownership and show discipline...and often simple laziness. It's not a good place to be, but it's fixable.
It's not easy, but getting up (physically or figuratively speaking) and seeking to reconnect with something that used to excite a person is one of the strategies one can use to arrest the downward spiral. Goal setting is another, and combined - linking those things that excite with one's goals - a person can begin to shrug off that habitual laziness and begin to rediscover that colourful and vibrant life they could potentially have.
What do you reckon? If you want to comment below then go ahead, I'm interested in your thoughts and experiences.

Weird, the only time I don't know what to do is when I hit a problem I really don't know how to solve but have to deal with XD
I don't think I've ever had a problem of "nothing to do". That seems really alien.
Eldest told me when he was on a downswing that he tries to live by the "ancient wisdom" of showing up being half the battle so he tries very hard to show up even when he really doesn't "feel" like it.
which makes me feel like I've done something right in life XD
Showing up to the battlefield certainly gives one a better chance at victory; being pre-prepared and being the right equipment and skills increases chances dramatically. 😉
I personally belive, that we got one life, so live it exploring the different aspects of life....either going out to, meeting people, or go on travel (if affordable) or immersed into something.....these are far netter than sleeping on a couch and expecting things fo burnout in your favor...just do it!.
I think people use the, there's nothing to do, excuse when they are too unimaginative to one up with something interesting for themselves to do.
I agree, if one wants he will always find something to do, being it even watch a movie, do a walk and so on... Usually I always come up with something to do, it never happens that I idle there, the only time I have nothing to do is when I got the kid sleeping the afternoon in his room, I'm done working and I'm done with anything which doesn't make a noise, anything making noise i can't do or he would wake up and the house is small, but it's not matter of hours anyways
There's always something intentional one could be doing and if one acts intentionally one will enjoy a better life.
A great reminder that intentional living starts with ownership coffee-fueled wisdom at its finest. ☕💡
Ownership is the foundation for everything where an individual's growth and development is concerned.
Yes indeed
Didn't we talk about lazy last time?? I'm starting to take it personal.
🤣
This whole series is about laziness. I'm surprised anyone even reads it because most people are so fucken lazy that they'd rather be out there looking at endless posts of fucken shadows or cunts picking up trash.
Ohhhhhh.... well, now I know what they are all going to be about, I can go back to those picking up trash posts.
You big goof ! I give it to you for being original. I have never seen anyone do a whole series on one single thing that disgusts them.
Lol, I'm a goof, that's for sure.
Laziness, inertia, and soon after, procrastination. With all that entails. The worst that can happen.😰
It's really worth having a coffee and thinking about changes.☕🤔
Something that helps a lot is exercise/sports. Well, it depends on the mobility and age of each person reading this. But a simple walk in nature, if possible, helps.
Mobility and exercise provide well-being, the main thing to start a change.
We have to act; life is short, there's no time for drama.
Otherwise, we spend the day drinking coffee. Will five liters be enough?😀
Exercise is good...but people don't exercise their brains quite enough.
I appreciate your sense of humor.🫡
Glad you saw it for what it is.
Thanks to you I just did something- learned a new word. So this morning is already productive.
There you go, I'd say that was a good start to the day.

I think there are many things to do with my time. I like to be active, and now that my son is on vacation and I have several activities planned with him and to move forward with personal projects, traveling and visiting the city's iconic places are excellent options to enjoy the wonderful moments life gives us.
Greetings @galenkp!
