Life Doesn't Wait For Us To Be Happy

Is there ever a time in history, when the whole world was at peace; where there was no crisis whatsoever at any point, or place in time?

I can only imagine. Because everything seems to be constantly under disruption. If not globally, then regionally, or subregionally, or nationally, or locally, or family or individually.

I think life only gets better when we stop thinking about it. We've come this far already, so… 🤷🏻‍♂

Beautiful things are happening everyday, everywhere. But when life has only been about competition and survival, gratitude becomes luxury for only the rich or wealthy, or blessed. Because they can afford it.

But aren't we all blessed, and wealthy, and rich in one way or another? Must everything be monetary?

“Money stops nonsense”, and that has become a street fact. I hear it a lot. But does money really stop nonsense? Or is it just a slogan to hype the hustle culture?
How much money is enough to make one truly happy and grateful with their life?

Here is the thing.

Get used to it — yes, this life. Everything is up and down, and sometimes spirals. Just get used to it — the good, the bad, the ugly, the insane — everything.

Sometimes, it looks like it's all scripted and it doesn't matter what we do. Other times, it looks like we're the ones acting it out by our own choices and decisions. Still, some other time, it looks like a helpless blend of both. Honestly, just when you think your plans are coming through, your decisions are clicking, and you're almost at ease that everything is going to come out just fine. Then boom! Atassa! 🤣

And the thing is, we're not always really equipped to handle these setbacks initially. It takes a lot of frustration to be finally able to handle ourselves.

What about those times it worked, and we won? Trust me, it takes experience too to be able to handle success. For some of us, our first taste of success or victory got us high and tripping really hard we were knocking things over. 😂
We messed up really badly that we had to start all over again. I guess, the more the experience the clearer our perspectives on the issues of life. And the clearer our perspective, the better our composure and competence in handling our feelings and reactions.

I have experienced a good life. And I enjoyed it. I have also been through a not-so-good life, and I lived. I've also been through hell, and thank God, I didn't get burnt — to ashes, I mean. 😀

This world predates all of us. We're all first timers. Our ancestors, and predecessors did their best in their own time. They were first timers, too. And whether or not they did well, or messed things up for us to inherit we cannot undo their mess.

The question is, can we do better? Aren't we messing things up too?

We can only do our best, and hope that posterity picks up the trail, and do their best as well. It's a trajectory of probabilities. And life is what it is, until life is no longer what it is.
