The importance of focusing

Greetings dear Hivers! I was on leave due to a fever and while relaxing, I remembered this and thought of presenting a content about it. As humans, we all want to improve quickly. The meaning of improving varies from person to person. But most of the time, we feel like we are stuck in the same place. Even though we work all day, we do not get the results we expected. The main reason for this is that our attention is scattered. When we are busy doing one task, our attention on the main task decreases and we miss it.

At this moment, I am reminded of a lesson I learned in science in grade 9 at school. Imagine that you have a magnifying glass. When you hold it up to the sun, the rays of the sun pass through it and come together at one point. What happens then? That accumulated energy can even set a piece of paper on fire. But what if you just leave the paper in the sun without that mirror? It won't burn out even after hours.

Our minds as individuals are like this. If we focus our mental energy, time, and interest on a single goal, we can do amazing things. If we divide that energy among a multitude of tasks, we won't be able to do a single thing properly. It is essential to remove all unnecessary things from your mind and focus only on your single goal. When you do a task, think of it as the only and most important thing you have at that moment and do it.

Let me take a more famous example for this. Everyone knows about Steve Jobs. First of all, I must say that I learned about this story from a newspaper article. Here is its summary. When Steve Jobs returned to Apple in 1997, the company was on the verge of bankruptcy. The reason for this was that Apple was producing dozens of different types of computers, printers, and other products at the same time. Their focus was completely scattered. The first thing Steve Jobs did when he came in was to stop 70% of these products. He focused the company's energy on just four products: two desktop computers and two laptops. Although many people were initially upset by this decision, the results were amazing. Those products (like the iMac) that were created with full attention and energy became very successful. Since then, Apple has become one of the most valuable companies in the world because of the power of "Focus".

Rather than doing a lot of things mediocrely, you can improve faster by choosing the most important few things and doing them excellently. Deciding what to do is just as important as deciding what not to do. The decision to do this is in your hands.

Let's see how to add Focus to your life. Turn off notifications on your phone when you work. Stay away from social media. Identify and manage distractions. Set clear goals. Write down exactly what you want. The clearer that goal is, the easier it is to focus on it. Multitasking divides your attention. Finish one task completely and then move on to another. Don't be afraid to say no to unnecessary tasks and invitations that do not contribute to your main goal.

Your progress may not be hindered by your lack of ability, but by your scattered attention. Focus your energy in one place. See the target like an archer. Choose the most important thing from those who focused well on risks like Steve Jobs. Then you too will be able to reach your dreams at an amazing speed. So starting today, choose one thing and give it your full attention.

Yes! Starting today, I'll choose one thing and give it my full attention. Thank you for this insightful piece. You know, I'm the type of person who likes to involve myself in many things, but in the end, I realise that I'm unable to achieve my desired result. Then, I become frustrated, and stop to do those things. But, from what you wrote, I've realised the need to channel one's energy into doing one thing effectively at a time, instead of dividing that energy amongst a multitude of tasks. Thanks for writing.👍

Glad to hear you'll start to give full attention after didn't receive your desires. Maybe we could frustrated due to failures in past time. But focus is Best way to do best things. Good luck and cheers.
