I will look up your post, "Where are all the heroes?" That is the quintessential question of our time.
As for the lack of heroes or role models... I agree 100%.
I had completely forgotten that our leaders are role models for our children. I thought, and still believe, their parents, relatives, friends, and heroes are their role models.
I don't usually include politicians in that group, but that means I have forgotten what it means to be young and look out at the world seeking the successful and the happy, and emulating them in hopes of achieving their same success. Now I look at our leaders and think our children are doomed unless we, as parents and influencers, speak out against why they shouldn't emulate these people.
Unfortunately, a lot of people today don't see the family as important - instead it is all about what they see on a ascreen.
