I was reading about a meeting in China with Russia, straight after the meeting in China with the US, the two leaders described it as a "multipolar world" which means that the US is no longer the dominant force, or is at least on the decline. As far as decentralisation of power goes, this is a good thing, but as far as humanity goes, it it is akin to instead of being chased by a hungry lion on the tundra whilst having a broken leg, there are three hungry lions chasing, all wanting a piece of you.
Humanity is doomed.
Because this isn't decentralisation of power globally, it is centralisation of power into the hands of opposing forces who don't give a damn about humanity. And don't be fooled by whatever party you support, or whatever country you are in, the current government and the current opposition to the government, give as much of a shit about you as Nike does about your feet, or McDonald's does about your waistline.
Zero shits given.
The rest of us are just the "proverbial" collateral that gets damaged in the powerplays between the poles. The iron fillings that will be forced to bend to the will of polarisation, whether we want to be involved or not. Are we meant to just resign ourselves to becoming cannon fodder and go on about our days, chasing some sold dream that will forever be out of our reach? Are we meant to just give up?
I am not sure.
Because the current trajectory the world is taking with velocity, is very likely toward the demise of humanity, and the only way to change course is to wrest control away from those who keep us on this path. The same ones involved in conditioning us to supporting them, and the corporations who are making us suffer for profit. It is like we have Stockholm syndrome, where we are now so accustomed to the abuse, we are empathetic toward the perpetrators. We keep hoping they will change.
They cannot.
Because the way they are structured will always lead to abuse, because they are incentivised to do exactly what they are doing. The only difference between the level of abuse between one country and another, is the timeline and opportunity. Give enough time and opportunity, and all governments will move toward dictatorship. Because just like money begets money, power begets power, and the power-hungry are the ones making the rules and enforcing them, even though they do not follow them themselves.
In what world does a President sue his own government?
This world.
And even though the case was frivolous and would have been thrown out of court, the case was settled prior to trial. The term for the government would be kleptocracy and the oligarchy is gathering the wagons - Putin would be proud.
I write about these things knowing it doesn't make an iota of difference, but I just don't feel good turning a blind eye to it and pretending it isn't happening. Because I will still be affected anyway, I just wouldn't know the cause of my suffering. There are lots of people like that, and they tend to be the ones who are blaming the wrong targets, while supporting the actual root of their problems.
If I am going to be miserable, I would rather know why.
And there will be many who disagree with me and think the world is filled with rainbows and sunshine and "positive thinking" will overcome all obstacles. It will not. Those hungry lions don't give a damn about what we think, they just want to fill their belly with our meat - they'll eat the broken leg too.

The temporary democratic world is dying, or maybe it has already died. The talks of humanity is getting sidelined. The media is so biased that you can no longer trust any source easily. Everything just reminds me of Shakespeare quote, "The hell is eempty and all the devils are here". Simply put, human beings are, by nature, cruel and corrupt. Majority revolves around this devilish concept, and I should apologize the devil for blaming. Fews are left with the concern for humanity; these few will continue to live on. Maybe, with these few, there is hope for a better tomorrow. Moreover, whether its the US, Russia or China, the only concern is to rule through hatred for each other. Throughout history, every mighty power has declined - even some got extinct, still we are willing for foolish concerns.
My question is: what option are we (common men) left with?
And this is what I wonder. I don't see many options other than if everyone opts out of this shit, which isn't going to happen.
It seems like positive thinking is for the weak. As we go upward in the chart of social/wealth/power status, positive thinking becomes less and less meaningful. As positive thinking gets started weakening in the chart another factor takes its place - Control - control over lessers. Unfortunately, I have no other option except to agree with your words and this phenomenon is getting with each of your post and every word. Unfortunately in the sense that I have started seeing the world as a sinking ship. Who will help us? We will not. A few thinkers like you - May be, I really hope so.
Positive thinking is for those who have no other avenue to do anything more.

Quite possible. Giant companies have been interfering politics and controlling the leaders around the world for several decades now.
I think the shift towards a multipolar world doesn’t seem to promise freedom, but rather a new set of oppressors.

This is such a great breakdown of what is really happening in the world right now. It really feels like everything is shifting and it is much crazy to see how these massive geopolitical moves end up hitting our everyday wallets through inflation and higher costs in everyday life. I love your point about how globalization is kind of reversing into localism and nationalism. At the end of the day we can not control what major countries do, so focusing on our own financial resilience and community is the best move but not many are okay with that tho...
