This picture was taken at South Coast Plaza, an upscale shopping center here in Orange County as part of a grand display in celebration of the upcoming Lunar New Year on February 1, 2022.

According to Chinese astrology, it will be the year of the tiger.

If you don't already know, each year has an animal sign in the Chinese zodiac, which has a 12 year cycle. So, if you were born in 1974 or 1986, you are some kind of a tigerrr!😀

Orange County, California has a considerable population of Chinese and Vietnamese communities who celebrate the occasion with festivities. The latter call it Tet Festival. Visitors are welcome to enjoy the cultural performances, live entertainment, fireworks ceremony, a variety of Vietnamese cuisine, (Oh, I love this part), and lion dances. Sounds fun to you?

Have a great weekend!

Exactly my year!!!!

Then you must be one brave woman my friend!

The chinese are celebrating their New Year in grand scale.. My dad supervised the building of the mansion of a rich chinese businessmsn and he was invited for their new year celebration. He came home with a lot of goodies as well as amassed plenty of coins as part of a pot hanging on the ceiling full of paper money and coins. That was so super he said..

The Chinese are really known to celebrate in opulent style. Did you keep those coins, I read those are lucky,

I am not sure what my Dad did to those coins... it was decades ago! hahaha

One day I could witness this kind of celebration 😊

You should watch one, it's nice and entertaining!

Happy Chinese New Year! (in advance :) )

Yeah, as the Chinese say "gong hei fat choy"
