- Baobab uses in Gambia -

A few words for this #amazingnature community on the uses of Baobabs in the villages of Gambia. I hope you will enjoy them

EnFr
When it grows nearby or in a village, all parts of the Baobab are used by local ethnic groups for their daily needs. The branches are pruned to recover the leaves which will be reduced to powder for the preparation of dishes, or given as food to animals. The bark is taken by uprooting for its fibers which will be used for medical care and which will be woven to make ropes for animals, houses and fences. Here in this photograph, a Baobab tree in the village of Bambali in The Gambia bears the scars of cutting and debarking repeated over time. However, it is a lucky tree with strong healing abilities which, despite these samples, repairs itself and survives for hundreds of centuries.
