Hned jak jsem tento divný strom viděl, bylo jasné že je to nějaká exotika. Stál tak vedle polní cesty "uprostřed ničeho" a nejbližší park je víc jak kilometr daleko. Pochází z jihovýchodních USA a nebude to žádná vzácnost, ale tady v Čechách jsem to ještě neviděl a navíc to místo. Vrtá mi hlavou jestli to někdo vysadil nebo jak to bylo???
As soon as I saw this strange tree, it was clear that it was an exotic. He stood next to the dirt road "in the middle of nowhere" and the nearest park is more than a kilometer away. It comes from the southeastern USA and it will not be a rarity, but here in the Czech Republic I have not seen it and moreover the place. I'm wondering if anyone dropped it or how it was ???

From my opinion I think that the seed of this Catalpa was transferred from the park that you mention, probably by bird or the wind. It is very normal for animals and wind to transfer the seed sometimes for many kilometres. In Croatia Catalpa is mostly urban tree.

It grows in coastal cities yes, but also in continental part as ornamental tree in yards.

The long seed pods you see are the 'fruit' of the tree, and they are very similar to bean pods. Before fruiting, the tree will be covered in bunches of large white flowers. Where I live, the foliage also turns a brilliant yellow during the fall season.

They would probably be easy to get, if you wanted some, as long as they're not considered invasive in your area. They're fairly could hardy and heat tolerant and grow quickly, even from seed.
