Something that I liked about Talampaya National Park in the province of La Rioja is that it offered a service area so you could wait comfortably until the time of your walk. At the entrance of the park you could find a large restaurant, a bicycle rental service and the ticket office where you could hire other types of excursions within the place, such as night expeditions or 4x4 tours. Like the entrance ticket, everything in this park was quoted at international prices, expensive for us Argentines. However, there was also a free short walk option and it was a self-guided trail with full-scale dinosaur sculptures 😃.
Algo que me gustó del Parque Nacional Talampaya en la provincia de La Rioja es que ofrecía una zona de servicios para poder esperar de manera cómoda hasta el horario de tu paseo. En la entrada del parque podías encontrar un gran restaurante, un servicio de alquiler de bicicletas y la boletería en donde contratar otro tipo de excursiones dentro del lugar, como expediciones nocturnas o tours en 4x4. Al igual que el ticket de entrada, todo en este parque cotizaba en precios internacionales, caros para nosotros los argentinos. Sin embargo, también había una opción gratis de pequeño paseo y se trataba de un sendero autoguiado con esculturas de dinosaurios a escala real 😃.
Fortunately, when I arrived at the park in the private transportation that I had hired to cover the 250 km stretch from the capital of San Juan to this part of the province of La Rioja, I just got a tour ticket that started in a few minutes. I didn't have to wait long to go see the beautiful landscapes inside the park, so I barely had time to explore the area around the entrance of the place. What I did do was eat the humble lunch that I had brought from home because I already expected that everything would be expensive there, and so it was 😅.
Afortunadamente, cuando yo llegué al parque en el transporte privado que había contratado para cubrir el tramo de 250 km desde la capital de San Juan hasta esta parte de la provincia de La Rioja, justo conseguí un ticket de tour que empezaba a los pocos minutos. No tuve que esperar mucho para ir a ver los paisajes hermosos dentro del parque, por lo que apenas había tenido un rato para explorar los alrededores de la entrada del lugar. Lo que sí hice es comer el humilde almuerzo que me había llevado desde casa porque ya me esperaba que ahí fuera todo caro, y así fue 😅.
When the walk that lasted almost three hours was over, I took the opportunity to go for a walk on the so-called Triassic Trail. Accessing this part of the park is free and a good option to spend time, as well as learn a little about the animals that were here. At the entrance you could already see a large life-size sculpture of one of the giants of this area, which gave an idea of the ancient inhabitants of these lands 😃.
Cuando terminó el paseo que duró casi tres horas, aproveché para ir a dar una vuelta en el llamado Sendero del Triásico. Acceder a esta parte del parque es gratis y una buena opción para pasar el rato, además de conocer un poco sobre los animales que se encontraban por acá. En la entrada ya podías ver una gran escultura a escala real de uno de los gigantes de esta zona, que daban idea de los antiguos habitantes de estas tierras 😃.
This trail is self-guided and takes about half an hour, where you can find informative signs about each of these species and how they were related in the past. Like its neighbor, Ischisgualasto Provincial Park, this Talampaya National Park is a site of archaeological exploration to this day and is a source of countless fossil remains. With its more than 2,500 m2 of surface area, it surely continues to hide a lot of mysteries and other specimens ❣️.
Este sendero es autoguiado y se recorre en una media hora, en donde podés encontrar cartelería informativa sobre cada una de estas especies y sobre cómo se relacionaban en el pasado. Al igual que su vecino, el Parque Provincial Ischisgualasto, este Parque Nacional Talampaya es un sitio de exploración arqueológica hasta hoy en día y es una fuente de innumerable cantidad de restos fósiles. Con sus más de 2500 mk2 de superficie, seguramente siga escondiendo un montón de misterios y otros ejemplares ❣️.
It is incredible to think that these dinosaurs inhabited the earth before us and that millions of years later, humanity was able to find their remains to study them. This walk is very educational for adults and children, because the sculptures allow you to see their real sizes. I am glad that this place functions as a dissemination center and that to this day these giants that will never stop being interesting continue to be explored and studied 💖.
Es increíble pensar que estos dinosaurios habitaron la tierra antes que nosotros y que millones de años después, la humanidad haya podido encontrar sus restos para estudiarlos. Este paseo es muy educativo para grandes y chicos, porque las esculturas permiten ver los tamaños reales que tenían. Me alegra que este lugar funcione como centro de divulgación y que hasta hoy en día se siga explorando y estudiando a estos gigantes que nunca van a dejar de ser interesantes 💖.
The entrance to Talampaya Park cost about $15, a quite expensive price compared to the other national parks in Argentina, but visiting it was worth it because it has landscapes that I had not seen anywhere else. Furthermore, the fact that they include other types of activities such as these types of tours is great to finish learning a little more about this place. In conclusion, this whole walk was very beautiful and in addition to having taken another step towards my goal of visiting all the provinces, I was able to have another approach to those who were ruling this place before us humans 😃.
La entrada al Parque Talampaya costó unos $15, un precio bastante costoso a comparación de los demás parques nacionales que hay en Argentina, pero visitarlo valió la pena porque tiene unos paisajes que no había visto en ningún otro lugar. Además, que incluyan otro tipo de actividades como este tipo de recorridos es genial para terminar de conocer un poco más acerca de este lugar. En conclusión, todo este paseo fue muy hermoso y además de haber dado un paso más dentro de mi objetivo de visitar todas las provincias, pude tener otro acercamiento a los que estuvieron reinando este lugar antes que nosotros los humanos 😃.
