Every walk surprises me with a new gift in the form of flowers. They are black bee-eaters, of the species *Ophrys fusca", a relatively frequent orchid in the province of Malaga.

Discreet, erect and grateful, these flowers appear in a clearing on the road, curiously close to a human infrastructure, demonstrating that they can coexist.

Do not try to capture a wild orchid. Most are in symbiosis with a fungus and bulb removal is probably not enough to ensure their survival in captivity.

Bumblebees will again fall into the sexual trap provided by their flowers, whose resemblance attracts them to the point of mistaking them for females and attempting to copulate with them. Spring promises flowers and reproduction.

The Orchid Lovers Community

A place for people who Love Orchids!

Nothing better than wild Orchids and I always hope and pray that people will just leave them where they find them. Let others enjoy their natural beauty. Thank you for taking such beautiful photos of them and sharing with the rest of us Orchid (and Nature) Lover's. 😁

The ephemeral beauty of these flowers ends even sooner when they are mindlessly collected. I am in favor of the medicinal and culinary use of plants, but picking a valuable flower for the enjoyment of a few moments is a selfish and unproductive gesture. Thank you for your comment, I'm glad you like the photos!

We appreciate your work and your post has been manually curated by @redheadpei on behalf of Amazing Nature Community. It will be added to the weekly botany curation post. Keep up the good work!
