A few days ago I saw a humming bird flying around some aloe flower, while I was walking. The bird was eating/drinking the nectar of the flowers. I decided to capture the scene with the camera of my cell phone (a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra). The light was not good, since it was late in the afternoon. Notice that the bird wings are very fuzzy due to the speed of the wing flapping. The shutter speed used was of 1/50s, this gives an idea of the fluttering.
Hace unos días estaba caminando y vi un colibrí que estaba volando al lado de unas flores de unas plantas de aloe y alimentándose de su nectar. Decidí captar esta escena con la cámara de mi celular (un Samsung Galaxy S22), a pesar de la luz de poca intensidad reinante, era ya el final de la tarde.
Noten que las alas del ave están borrosas, debido a su aleteo extremadamente rápido, para que tengan una idea de ello, menciono que la velocidad del obturador fue de 1/50s.
The photos were taken in Antofagasta (Chile), notice the orange color of the aloe flowers. This is a contrast with the yellow flowers of other varieties of aloe, common in other latitudes.
I used the 10x lens of the camera and edited the images in Gimp.
