We consider the lion to be the king of animals. I have already written articles about several animals and today the time has come to write about the king of the animal kingdom.
I asked my five-year-old daughter what she could tell me about lions. Here is her response:
I know about the lion that if you give him obstacles, he can jump over obstacles. He doesn't sleep at night, but he sleeps in the morning and we have him at our zoo.
And who is actually a lion? How does he live? Well, we'll find out now.
This beautiful feline can be seen in the wild in the savannahs and steppes of Africa and in isolated parts of Asia. The territory where it occurred in the past has shrunk considerably.
Lions are social, territorial animals that live in herds. Females live together with young, and males are not far from them. They protect them and prevent other males from mating with their females. At the same time, they protect their territory.
Lions are carnivores and hunt almost all mammals. From antelope, buffalo, wildebeest and even giraffe. They also dare to take on a baby hippo, elephant or gorilla. They attack an adult individual only when there is a serious lack of food.
Females go hunting with young males. Lions cooperate with each other when hunting, and if they manage to catch something, the males are the first guests, followed by females and cubs until the end.
When the female is pregnant, she leaves the herd. She will give birth to 1-7 cubs. After a while, he will return with the young and the herd will receive everyone.
Leos are known for taking a break. They sleep up to 20 hours a day. They are active mainly at night.
The lion is a truly impressive animal and I am glad to be able to share some information about it with you.

Leva považujeme za kráľa zvierat. Napísal som članky už o niekoľkých zvieratách a dnes nadysiel čas, aby som napísal aj o kráľovi ríše zvierat.
Opýtal som sa mojej päť ročnej dcérky čo mi vie povedať o levoch. Tu je jej odpoveď:
Ja viem o levovi že ked mu dáš prekážky tak on vie skákať cez prekážky. On v noci nespí ale ručí a ráno spí a máme ho u nás v zoologickej záhrade.
A kto je vlastne lev? Ako žije? Tak to sa dozvieme teraz.
Túto nádhernú mačkovitú šelmu môžeme vo voľnej prírode vidieť v savanách a stepiach Afriky a v izolovaných častiach Ázie. Územie kde sa vyskytoval v minulosti sa značne zmenšilo.
Lev je spoločenské, teritoriálne zvierat ktoré žije v stádach. Samice žijú spoločne s mláďatami a samce sú neďaleko nich. Ochraňujú ich a bránia ostatným samcom páriť sa s ich samicami. Zároveň ochraňujú svoje teritórium.
Lev je mäsožravec a loví takmer všetky cicavce. Od antilopy, byvola, pakoňa a dokonca aj žirafu. Trúfnu si aj na mláďa hrocha, slona či gorili. Na dospelého jedinca zaútočia len keď je vážny nedostatok potravy.
Na lov idú samice s mladými samcami. Levy pri love navzájom spolupracujú a ak sa im podarí niečo uloviť tak sa ako prvý hostia samci, za nimi samice a mláďatá si na svoje prídu až na koniec.
Keď je samica gravidná odíde od stáda. Na svet prinesie 1-7 mláďat. Po čase sa spolu s mladými vráti späť a stádo všetkých príjme.
Levy sú známe tým, že si doprajú oddych. Denne prespia aj 20 hodín. Aktívne sú predovšetkým v noci.
Lev je skutočne impozantné zviera a som rád, že som sa s vami mohol podeliť o zopár informácií o ňom.
