Hi friends!
On Sunday, I got into the real kingdom of nature! In February, when winter is coming to an end and the weather has not stabilized in any way, you want to leave the city and find yourself alone with nature. And I was very flattered to find such an oasis in the middle of the city. I have been to Vicenza more than once. But I always didn't have enough time to visit Querini Park. Because the park is a little far from the city center. And my journey today was purposeful, so to speak.
I wanted to see Querini Park! Going straight, guided by the Google map, I still asked passers-by on the way if I was going the right way. Everyone immediately directed me and told me what was waiting for me there. That there are ducks, rabbits, nutria and turtles. But I did not expect that there would be so many of them!

В неділю я попала в справжнє царство природи! В лютому, коли зима підходить до кінця і погода ніяк не стабілізується, так хочеться виїхати з міста та опинитися сам на сам з природою. І мені дуже поталанило знайти таку оазу серед міста. Я була у Віченці не раз. Але завжди мені не вистачало часу щоб відвідати парк Кверіні. Тому що парк знаходиться трохи далеко від центру міста. А сьогоднішня моя мандрівка була, так би сказати, цілеспрямована.
Я хотіла побачити парк Кверіні! Прямуючи, керуючись картою Гугл, я все ж по дорозі запитувала прохожих чи правильно я йду. Всі зразу направляли мене і розповідали що мене там очікує. Що там є качки, кролики, нутрії та черепахи. Але що їх так буде багато я не сподівалася!
Nature has not yet woken up from winter hibernation. Only coniferous trees were green. The deciduous trees were still bare, but last year's shriveled, dry leaves lay around them. The birds were already chirping merrily in anticipation of spring. The woodpecker beat the beat with its strong beak, looking for food.
Природа ще не прокинулась від зимової сплячки. Тільки хвойні дерева стояли зелені. Листяні дерева ще були голі,та навколо них лежало пожурхле сухе минулорічне листя. Птахи вже весело щебетали у передчутті весни. Дятел відбивав такт своїм міцним дзьобом, шукаючи собі поживи.
The park was not very crowded, but there was no shortage of children. The children ran after the rabbits, treating these fluffy ones with delicious carrots. The rabbits were quite calm and docile. Some of them were so brave that they ate lettuce leaves right out of the children's hands! All the meadows, as far as you could see, were filled with multi-colored rabbits. And the land is dug up and turned into cozy homes. Rabbits here live in a completely natural environment. And this is exactly what attracts all visitors to the Querini Park.
В парку не було дуже людно, але дітей не бракувало. Діти бігали за кроликами, пригощаючи цих пухнастиків смачною морквинкою. Кролики були доволі спокійними і ручними. Деякі з них були настільки сміливими, що поїдали листки салату прямо з дитячих рук! Всі галявини, кругом, де глянь були заповнені різнокрльоровими кроликами. А земля розрита і перетворена у затишні домівки. Кролики тут живуть в повністю природному середовищі. І саме це приваблює всіх відвідувачів парку Кверіні.
Querini Park occupies 121,000 square meters. and surrounded on two sides by the banks of the river Baciglione and its tributary Asticello, and on the third side by the line of Venetian walls. In the middle of the park from the Capra Querini Palace is a lovely avenue lined with thuja and other trees and set with statues of mythical animals and allegorical images. The alley leads to the pond, where there is a round temple on an island with Ionic columns supporting the dome. This temple is not accessible to visitors, although a bridge leads there. During excavations under the temple, the remains of an ice house where ice was stored for cooling food and drinks were discovered.
Парк Кверіні займає 121тис кв.м. і оточений з двох сторін берегами річки Бакільоне та її притоки Астічелло, а з третього боку — лінією венеціанських стін. Посередині парку від палацу Капра Кверіні розташована чудова алея, обсаджена туями та іншими деревами та встановленими статуями з міфічними тваринами та алегоричними образами. Алея веде до ставка, де на острівці знаходиться круглий храм з іонними колонами, що підтримають купол. Цей храм недоступний для відвідувачів хоч і веде туди місток. Під час розкопок під храмом були виявлені рештки льодярні, де зберігали лід для охолодження їжі та напоїв.
As you can see in the photo, a large number of ducks and nutria live in the pond. Nutrias are so cheeky, they come ashore and beg for food. Children and their parents bring their favorite goodies for these animals. Some disdainfully pass by and do not even look in the direction of these water inhabitants. Huge fish also live in the pond. They are so skilled that they can grab food right out of the nutria's hands! Ducks are very calm. They swim away from this noisy flock.
В ставку, як можна побачити на фото живуть велика кількість качок та нутрій. Нутрії такі нахаби, вони виходять на берег та випрошують їжу. Діти з батьками приносять улюблені смаколики для цих тварин. Дехто гидливо проходить мимо і навіть не дивитися в сторону цих водяних жителів. В ставку також живуть величезні риби. Вони такі вправні, що вміють вихоплювати їжу прямо з під рук у нутрії! Качки дуже спокійні. Плавають собі поодаль від цієї метушливої зграї.
Water turtles bask on the sunny shore. There are a lot of them. Bigger, smaller... Children repeatedly exclaim: "Mom, look at the turtles!" Turtles have also become accustomed to the attention of visitors to the park. They sit motionless on the shore with their heads out and their shells facing the sun.
На сонячному березі гріються водяні черепахи. Їх дуже багато. Більші, менші... Діти раз ураз вигукують: ,,Мамо, дивись, черепахи!" Черепахи також привикли до уваги відвідувачів парку. Вони непорушно сидять на березі, витягнувши голову і підставивши свій панцир до сонця.
These stumps from cut trees caught my attention. The stumps are wide... you can imagine how thick the trees were! Apparently, the trees got sick due to the dominance of parasitic fungi... and they were cut down.
Park Querini can be accessed from four sides. But no matter where you go, a unique encounter with living nature awaits you. The park is the lungs of the city of Vicenza. Residents and tourists like to spend their free time here. Many young people have picnics here, spreading mats on the green lawn. And for children, it's a paradise. This is communication with living nature!

Мою увагу привернула ці пеньки від зрізаних дерев. Пеньки широкі... уявляєте, які товсті були дерева! Мабуть дерева захворіли через засилля грибів паразитів... і їх зрізали.
До парку Кверіні можна зайти з чотирьох сторін. Але звідки б ви не зайшли, на вас чекає неповторна зустріч з живою природою. Парк, це легені міста Віченци. Тут люблять проводити свій вільний час мешканці міста та туристи. Багато молоді тут влаштовують пікніки, розкинувши карімати на зеленому лужку. А для дітей тут взагалі рай. Це спілкування з живою природою!

I believe that parks are not only the decoration of the city, but also its lungs! I would really like a city where there are many green parks and where there are rivers, like in Vicenza.
