Poppy 🥰 — Hive

Although it looks simple, wild poppies in the fields will touch everyone's soul, especially the romantic ones...from another type of poppy, the opium poppy, raw opium is obtained.

"The Turkish poppy (Papaver rhoeas L.) is an annual herbaceous plant from the poppy family (Papaveraceae). Its stem is erect, simple or weakly branched. It can grow up to 80 centimeters in height, it is covered with hairs and contains white milky juice."

The young leaves of the poppy are edible, at the very bottom. The seeds are used as a mixture for pastries and cakes. Then, tea or syrup of poppy petals is used in case of cough, as well as insomnia....

Various legends follow the wild poppy... from the origin legend, the story says that the daughter of Zeus was kidnapped by Hades, and taken to the underworld...

Her mother, Demeter, was desperate, so much so that she didn't want to raise plants anymore, to give them yes life when spring comes...

And then Zeus managed to persuade Hades to let go of his wife, the Goddess, to walk the earth on the moon... And every time the queen returns to earth, red poppies bloom, reminding of the passion of the bridegroom waiting in the underworld...

There is another legend of the ancient Greeks, that the poppy is a symbol of oblivion and sleep.... Morpheus, the god of sleep, is always represented with poppies in his hand..
