Repair not replace / お直し

My daughter came back with her pant's right knee broken.

The monsters on the pants are a kind of her friends. I saw sometimes she brushes their teeth with her finger. She told me she wanted to repair the hole with a pear appliqué as if the monster was eating a pear 🍐Of course I did her favor.

I wish she keeps this kind of creativity and learns to repair and use things longer 😊

雨の日曜日です。庭の水やりは雨に任せて、子どもズボンを直しました。

今回はモンスターが梨を食べているように直してくれとのことで・・・。このズボンを履いていく日の朝、「モンスターは元気？」と聞くと元気だと言って、指で歯磨きをしてあげていて、どうやらすっかり友だちらしいです 😅

そんなこんなでリクエストにこたえてちょっと手の込んだアップリケをつけました。「梨に葉っぱ忘れないでね」と言われたこともあり。子どもがお昼寝をしている最中楽しく梨作りに励みました。

いつか最新のファッション！と言い出す日が来るのかもしれないけれど、ものを直して長く使うことをどこかで覚えていてくれるといいな。
