Llegó el otoño en Buenos Aires y eso significa que pronto las temperaturas empezaran a bajar; claro será poco a poco y aun tengo tiempo, pero hay que irse preparando. Por eso empecé a elaborar algunas bufandas.
Para empezar necesitaba materiales, no solo para bufandas, también para otros proyectos, y llevaba tiempo planificando abastecerme en un local que me sale todo el tiempo en redes sociales.
Me sentí en el paraiso de las tejedoras al ver tantos colores maravillosos y brillantes. Con la asistencia del vendedor escogí unas cuantas madejas para algunos proyectos.
El tema con las madejas es que son más económicas que los ovillos, pero hay que ovillarlas para empezar a tejer con ellas. Me ofrecieron un aparatito para hacer el ovillado rápidamente, pero escapaba a mi presupuesto. Igual mi esposo siempre me ayuda en ese proceso.
Esa misma noche hicimos los ovillos con los que empezaria a tejer mi primera bufanda y comencé con el proceso casi de inmediato. Es que cuando tengo un proyecto en mente quiero empezarlo cuanto antes ¿También les pasa?
Encontré un patrón precioso con el que queria hacer esta primera bufanda y me puse manos a la obra, pero cuando llevaba ya unas cuantas vueltas tuve que aceptar que no estaba funcionando.
No estoy segura si el punto estaba quedando demasiado apretado, pero el tejido estaba quedando muy firme, muy tieso y una prenda como la bufanda debe adaptarse al cuerpo, ser suelto. Así que como Penélope, empecé a destejer para empezar de nuevo.
Después de ver unos cuantos videos y recomendaciones encontré unos consejos esenciales. Así descubrí que para que el tejido quede más suelto se debe usar una aguja de crochet de un número mayor al que requiere el grosor del hilo. Pero con el punto que habia querido hacer me quedaría demasiado esponjoso, al ser muy grueso el hilo, quizá con uno más delgado podría hacerlo con ese patrón. Lo intentaré después.
Una vez localizado un patrón más sencillo y seleccionado el ganchillo ideal comencé de nuevo. Enseguida se notó la diferencia, pues se notaba que iba quedando sueltecito y flexible.
Súper emocionada sentí que se tejió solita porque fue fluyendo rapidamente, además este color me transmite mucha paz y buenas energías, me gusta mucho trabajar en este color. Y al ser un color claro lo puedo tejer muy bien incluso en las noches, cosa que no me pasa con los colores oscuros.
El resultado me encantó y mi modelo favorita enamorada del resultado (pero no era para ella 😂), así que ahora me toca empezar una con los colores que escogió mi hija y hacerle su bufanda para que esté abrigadita en este proximo invierno. Los amigurumis de momento tendrán que esperar, porque se viene la coleccion otoño - invierno de Cuchita Crochet como me recien me han bautizado en mi casa.

I felt like I was in knitting heaven when I saw so many wonderful, bright colors. With the help of the salesperson, I chose a few skeins for some projects.
The thing about skeins is that they're cheaper than balls of yarn, but you have to wind them to start knitting with them. They offered me a little gadget to make the balling process faster, but it was out of my budget. My husband always helps me with that process, though.
That same night, we made the balls with which I would begin knitting my first scarf, and I began the process almost immediately. When I have a project in mind, I want to start it as soon as possible. Does this happen to you too?
I found a beautiful pattern that I wanted to use for this first scarf, and I got to work, but after a few rows, I had to accept that it wasn't working.
I'm not sure if the stitch was too tight, but the fabric was very firm, very stiff, and a garment like a scarf should fit the body, be loose. So, like Penelope, I started unraveling to start over.
After watching a few videos and recommendations, I found some essential tips. So I discovered that for a looser knit, you should use a crochet hook that's a size larger than the yarn thickness requires. But the stitch I had wanted would be too fluffy, as the yarn is very thick. Perhaps I could use a thinner one with that pattern. I'll try it later.
Once I found a simpler pattern and selected the ideal crochet hook, I started again. I immediately noticed the difference, as it felt loose and flexible.
I was so excited, I felt like it knitted itself because it flowed so quickly. Plus, this color gives me so much peace and good energy. I really like working in this color. And since it's a light color, I can knit it very well even at night, which isn't the case with dark colors.
I loved the result, and my favorite model is in love with it (but it wasn't for her 😂), so now it's time to start one with the colors my daughter chose and make her scarf so she'll be warm this coming winter. The amigurumis will have to wait for now, because the Cuchita Crochet fall-winter collection, as I've recently been dubbed at home, is coming.
I'm happy and excited about this new project and the ones to come ❤️
