Making Pattern for Tyrannically-Ordered Masks

I despise the "Great Reset" coup happening in my country and worldwide, as well as my tyrannical governor in North Carolina. Thus, I seek a subversive way to stay out of jail while still being able to breathe, teach, shop, and fight the communists and the crony faux-capitalists globally.

The navy blue mask is the style I want to imitate, so I first folded it in half and laid it on a large sheet of drawing paper. I traced the outline and marked placement of the ear loops.

By using a ready-made bandanna from the dollar store, I can take advantage of the pre-hemmed edges by folding the bandanna along the diagonal. This also means the top of the mask will be on the bias, for a little bit of stretch comfort (to the extent a government-ordered muzzle could ever be "comfortable.")

I will be sewing the binding and earloops later, after teaching my classes and meeting some commercial writing deadlines. Look for an update or another installment soon.

Feeny is watching over the red fabric from which I plan to make some masks which will have embroidered messages such as "MAGA" and "Taxation is Theft" and "Liberty or Death."

This post made me chuckle! I love your attitude! I hope the "muzzle" turns out like you wanted it to. I finally bought some of those cheap plastic face shields. I can breathe much better with those, but it messes with my vision instead. An employee at a local store showed me how she cut the plastic away in front of her eyes, so I am going to try that.

Our stinking governor actually altered his exec order to say "fabric" masks after discovering some of the peasants (like me) had managed to survive with face shields which allow us to have faces, read lips, speak clearly, etc. Every time Roy Cooper thinks anyone is not completely miserable or bankrupt yet, he issues a new order. Some day God will judge all tyrants--unless they repent.

Uffda, that's really getting picky, isn't it? Some of these "authorities" are just getting power hungry and too carried away with their decrees.

As my Granny would have said, he is getting "too big for his britches."
