Steemit is a company and Steemit.com is just a website that let's people interact with the Steem blockchain. You can view the Steem blockchain on other websites, such as Steempeak.com
Justin bought the Steemit company/website which included the Steem tokens owned by Steemit.
Hive is a new blockchain and started as a duplicate of Steem minus Justin's equivalent Hive amount. The Steemit.com website is also cloned to Hive.blog; and Steempeak.com is cloned to Peakd.com
