It would depend on where you are, I guess, and whose woods they are. They are not a real long term solution, unless they can be made more durable with UV resistant treatments. After 2-3 years in the sun in western NY, I've seen that the tops of these become pretty porous. If you painted it with roof sealer, that would probably help a lot. They also aren't always that cheap for this size... as I said, I couldn't let the deal pass. I think they are typically $400-$600, still a pretty good deal.
