Very good morning dear community, I hope you are great, today I bring you a new drawing related to the Viking world, and this is the Bishop Heahmund of the magnificent series Vikings which culminated a few weeks ago with its 6th season, in the series this was a really unique character, because although he was not a Viking or anything like that, he was a great warrior throughout his participation in the television saga, although the series is based mostly on the history and Viking exploits, it's great to see this kind of characters that are like the counterpart of those Nordic warriors, and that could be equal or more fierce than them when fighting, since I saw this character on screen I wanted to make a kind of illustration about him and well here I bring them to you so you can see a little of the process of how I did it:
Muy buen día querida comunidad, espero se encuentren genial, el día de hoy les traigo un nuevo dibujo relacionado con el mundo Vikingo, y se trata del Obispo Heahmund de la magnífica serie Vikings la cual culmino hace algunas semanas con su 6ta temporada, en la serie este fue un personaje realmente único, pues a pesar de que no era un vikingo ni nada por el estilo, fue un gran guerrero durante toda su participación en la saga televisiva, a pesar de que la serie se basa más que todo en la historia y las hazañas vikingas en su mayoría, es genial ver este tipo de personajes que son como la contraparte de esos guerreros nórdicos, y que podían ser igual o más feroces que ellos a la hora de combatir, desde que vi a este personaje en pantalla me dieron ganas de realizar una especie de ilustración sobre él y bueno aquí se las traigo para que puedan ver un poco el proceso de cómo lo hice:

I started by sketching a little and then painted everything little by little in a better and more orderly way.
Inicie bocetando un poco para luego pintar todo poco a poco de una mejor manera y de una forma más ordenada.
I started adding the colors layer by layer to my drawing, for this I wanted to use tones from my own color palette to give my personal touch to this drawing, I started with the skin with a good base and then with small details in the nose, cheekbones, chin and other areas of the face, finally I added some lights to the face.
Empecé agregando los colores capa a capa a mi dibujo, para esto quise utilizar tonos de mi propia paleta de colores para darle mi toque personal a este dibujo, inicie con la piel con una buena base y luego con pequeños detalles en la nariz, pómulos, barbilla y demás zonas del rostro, por ultimo agregue algunas luces al rostro.
Next was Bishop Heahmund's outfit, although I was a bit guided by the reference image to make the outfit, I still didn't want to make it so similar and tried to add small details and different colors to my illustration.
Lo siguiente fue la vestimenta del Obispo Heahmund, a pesar de guiarme un poco por la imagen de referencia para hacerla vestimenta, aun no quise hacerla tan similar y trate de agregar pequeños detalles y colores diferentes a mi ilustración.
For the base of the hair I used a not so flat brush, this to make this area a little more realistic, then with a thicker and more diffuse brush I added the shadows and dark areas to the hair and then with a smaller brush I made light strands for the largest possible area of the hair.
Para la base del cabello utilice un pincel no tan plano, esto para que quedara un poco más realista esta zona, luego con un pincel más grueso y difuso fue agregando las sombras y zonas oscuras al cabello y luego con un pincel más pequeño le fui haciendo mechones claros por la mayor zona posible del cabello.
I wanted to inspire my drawing in a wooded area, this because in most of the scenes of the Vikings series are developed in places like forests or areas where there were many trees, that's why I painted some trees in the back to make a good background to this drawing and little by little was adding details of vegetation and leaves to the trees, as final details and to complement the drawing still a little more I created 2 new layers of shadows and lights, this to highlight some small details that I had neglected a little.
Quise inspirar mi dibujo en una zona un poco boscosa, esto pues en la mayoría de las escenas de las serie Vikings se desarrollan en lugares como bosques o zonas donde había muchos árboles, es por ello que pinte algunos árboles en la parte de atrás para hacerle un buen fondo a este dibujo y poco a poco le fue agregando detalles de vegetación y hojas a los arboles, como detalles finales y para complementar el dibujo todavía un poco mas cree 2 nueva capas de sombras y luces, esto para resaltar algunos pequeños detalles que había descuidado un poco.
