🇪🇸 ~ ¡Mi colección de conejitos de porcelana, piedra tallada y cerámica tiene un nuevo integrante!, ayer me regalaron este hermoso conejo blanco con estampado de flores y ojos pintados a mano; la persona que me lo obsequió me cuenta que el bolso donde lo tenía durante el camino se le calló y por eso esta roto, pero a mi no me importa.
🇺🇸 ~ My collection of porcelain, carved stone, and ceramic bunnies has a new addition! Yesterday, I was given this beautiful white rabbit with a floral pattern and hand-painted eyes. The person who gave it to me told me that the bag they were carrying it in fell out on the way, which is why it's broken, but I don't mind.
✦ The kittens were very interested in the new bunny; when the restoration was finished, I gave them the paper to play with xD spoiler: They went crazy ✦
Como se aprecia en las fotos se le han quebrado las orejitas y el laqueado, es una pena porque es una pieza realmente bonita; hoy estoy me siento súper motivada a repararlo con la técnica del "Kintsugi" aunque yo utilizare otros materiales.
As you can see in the photos, the ears and lacquer have broken, which is a shame because it's a really beautiful piece. Today I feel super motivated to repair it using the “Kintsugi” technique, although I will use other materials.

(1) Lo primero que hice fue limpiar con 1 paño seco y limpio todo el conejito y su orejita rota, (2) luego pegué la orejita con algo de silicón frío, (3) y cuando estuvo completamente seco, limpie de nuevo toda la pieza (4) y agregué con 1 pincel fino algo de pegamento para láminas de oro (también se le dice "barniz mordiente").
(1) The first thing I did was clean the entire bunny and its broken ear with a dry, clean cloth. (2) then I glued the ear back on with some cold silicone, (3) and when it was completely dry, I cleaned the whole piece again (4) and added some glue for gold leaf (also called “bite varnish”) with a fine brush.

(5) Esperé un aproximado de 2 horas, (6) y luego con 1 brocha pequeña de cerdas suaves apliqué pan de oro molido en movimientos circulares por encima de todas las líneas donde apliqué el pegamento para láminas de oro, que tambien se le conoce como "pan de oro". (7) Finalmente dejaré reposar la pieza en un lugar seguro libre de humedad.
(5) I waited approximately 2 hours, (6) and then, using a small soft-bristled brush, I applied ground gold leaf in circular motions over all the lines where I had applied the gold leaf adhesive, also known as “gold leaf.” (7) Finally, I will leave the piece to rest in a safe place free from moisture.

On previous occasions, I have repaired broken ceramic or clay pieces at home using this technique, but instead of ground gold leaf, I used a fine brush and applied acrylic paint or cold paint “over the scars” to create the illusion of golden scars.
I thoroughly enjoyed this brief afternoon of restoration and, as a way of celebrating the arrival of this new friend to my precious collection (I LOVE PORCELAIN RABBITS AND CATS), I also decided to try out a new, more concise and specific tutorial-blog format.
Sometimes we experience simple, short creative processes, and I want to believe that it's worth recording, sharing, and celebrating them if they contain unique features such as an unusual material or a useful substitute suggestion.
En ocasiones anteriores ya he reparado piezas de cerámica o barro que se han roto en casa con esta técnica pero en lugar del pan de oro molido utilicé un pincel fino y aplique "encima de las cicatrices" pintura acrílica o pintura al frío para crear esa ilusión de cicatrices doradas.
He disfrutado muchísimo esta breve tarde de restauración y a modo de celebración por la llegada de este nuevo amigo a mi preciada colección (AMO LOS CONEJOS Y GATOS DE PORCELANA) me animé también a probar un nuevo formato de tutorial-blog de naturaleza más concisa y puntual.
A veces experimentamos procesos creativos simples y de pocos pasos y yo quiero creer que vale la pena registrarlos, compartirlos y celebrarlos si contienen particularidades como algún material poco frecuente o una sugerencia de sustituto útil.
