Zing update

in Holozing Community2 months ago

We've been slowly moving forward with things again so thought I'd bring you a small update.

API's between game and website have been made and are currently in the process of being tied together, this was discussed in this post, a tl;dr: basically so you can heal your creatures off-game so they're ready for the next battle along with using mana potions, food and water to be fresh for any encounter you may face next or the next day if your healer/creatures don't rest well enough on their own.

We've started work on a few simple stats and creating an API for that, the first iteration will be encounter stats that include things like:

  • total creatures encountered
  • creatures defeated
  • creatures captured
  • creatures escaped
  • player escaped from encounter
  • player was defeated in encounter

Keep in mind that these stats will be saved both on the creatures and healer/account, meaning that if you trade your creature away, you can still track its stats from previous owner. This API will also allow us to generate global stats on the website + discord so others can see whenever an encounter ends and how it ended for which player. Example:

Acidyo's healer was defeated in an encounter vs a lvl 5 Miumiu.

Naturally we won't be giving away its stats however, the only times that will be made public is when a creature happens to be full holo (max) stats which will be quite rare!

More work being done on alpha vial opening, we hope to have this ready soon after proper testing once the last remaining animations are implemented.

We'd also like to "soft" remind people that once we get closer to the alpha vial opening, we will be announcing an end-time to our Alpha Sale. This means that after the end-time, we will start selling Beta Vials instead. This also means that the community is in charge of how many Alpha Vials will exist in our game, currently at around 3700!

We have a new 3d artist we've invited to join our team here from Hive directly, welcome @anima-shot who's been doing some amazing work that she's shared with us in the community! We hope this will be a great partnership that'll last us a long time and help us catch up on any missing 3d creatures, healers and environment in the game.

We've started working on a new creature with an additional two evolutions that's coming out great and we'll use the opportunity to restart activity on the @holozing account with a potential naming contest for it along with the last creature we created, the ermine!

We've also completed some work in our "first person point of view" for aiming at creatures and resources to capture or extract them.

The way this works is, whenever you choose your capture device in the inventory, you'll enter a FPS camera angle where you'll have to aim at the wild creature you're attempting to capture, upon failure to do so or success, you'll automatically exit the FPS mode and the battle continues. At the end of the battle, you'll be able to enter this mode once more to extract resources you may see in and around the battle field, such as flowers, fruit or minerals within rocks you believe may contain something to level up your professions!

We are quite excited about this as its our first steps into leveling up gathering professions which then enables players to start crafting and leveling up their crafting professions as well. More info on this later!

Thanks for reading!

I just updated my friend about this xD. Need to get that vial ASAP now haha.

Glad to see more and more things happening faster now. Hiring @anima-shot will definitely help with the progress for sure and we all can't wait to see the new 3d models hehe.

It's amazing to see the game being built on hive with hive users itself. Such an amazing opportunity for budding artists!

okay I like it! Alpha Vials going away is going to create a FOMO wave of purchases which is nice. Also the First Person point of view is a cool change up and I am excited to finally get to play this... eventually ;)

Switching to first person pov, this seems an interesting concept for a change than usual gameplay, I like it

This game news is great and I think I'll understand it better in practice, but I love reading about it to get an idea of what's coming up.

Awesome, good too see progress being made to the game. Really waiting for its grand launch 😁.

Very cool! I look forward to seeing this shape up...and also I think I'm going to save up for another alpha vail.

I'm one of those eagerly awaiting the game's launch. It looks like we need a little more time for everything to be complete. Best of luck to @anima-shot in his new role.

awesome news. can't wait to play :3

Looking forward to it, I know is has been a long road for you and the team!

Thanks for sharing the progress, you have been working hard on the game, blessings.

Very creative and interesting. ☺️

Do we know if beta vials will be the same price as alpha? Also, when will it be possible to buy vials with PayPal or credit card?

Same price yes, that's still a bit in the future, we'll offer purchase and hive accounts with other tokens before that.

Unfortunately, where i live it remains difficult to get money into hive without taking like 15% hit on fees so until credit card or PayPal is offered as a form of payment people like me will have to wait or take earnings from other games and move them into this one. And earnings are hard to come by these days!

You may wanna try engaging more and following more people, etc, and build connections, then start focusing a bit more on creating content, trying out different frontends and dapps on hive, etc.

But yeah I hear you on the difficulty to buy hive for some people/countries.

I tried that briefly with splinterlands back in the day. It seems like most groups make a coin and to get support you have to buy and stake their coin. I tried a few posts where I'd spend a few hours making my graphics and typing everything out then I'd get like 2 views. Even with the fees it wouldn't be so bad if it was just easier. But you've gotta buy on one of the few platforms allowed like crypto.com then pay gas fees to move it to external wallet. Then pay more fees to move it to hive then swap it for hive to buy whatever you need. Just too much work for a game. Any game trying to get mass adoption has to remove these steps. I know there are a ton of regulatory steps with that though.

Excellent gentleman, know that everything is going very well. Success.

The Update is insane! I like it and also the avatar. You did great!👍

@acidyo Thanks for the update! It’s great to see steady progress being made, and the API integration between the game and website sounds really exciting. Being able to heal creatures and manage resources off-game will definitely make the gameplay smoother and more engaging. Looking forward to seeing how everything comes together!

Wow, Holozing looks amazing. I should start playing it. Where can I find useful tutorials for it?

Estoy feliz de escuchar nuevamente del proyecto. Continúen avanzando.
