Welcome back my friend, thanks for visiting! π
Yes we do, we (the royal we as he does all the heavy lifting on his own) have done a lot of work to get this place where it is. We started with just a chunk of wild land and it has become our sanctuary. God knew we needed it after the lives we lived before moving here. Yes we are both Veterans, good catch on the boots. Those boots are older than our two adult children and are on their last legs, which is too bad, he finds them to be the most comfortable boots he owns. It would be nice if I could find him another pair, the odds are not in our favour for finding another pair, but I'll look once I have the cash to pay for them if I'm blessed to find them. π
Awe, thank you for saying that. We do try to give them good lives while they're with us, no matter how short or long their stay ends up being. My handsome husband gets quite attached to them all, and I've learned to have affection for them, but not form that deep a bond with the ones that might end up predator food or in the freezer...though there are a few chickens that I'd be super sad to see go either of those ways, but I'm prepared for such occurrences when they come. All homesteaders need to be ready for that, if they're going to have animals/fowl of any kind, as it happens and you never know when. It's kind of like the military motto of "hurry up and wait", LOL! π
Okay, I've been on here longer than I was supposed to be, so I've got to go start my spring cleaning. Chat with you again later. π
God bless you and yours. Have an awesome day my fabulous friend! π
